UK: London, Manchester, Glasgow\nPrimary Responsibilities\nHDR is looking for a project manager whose experience focuses on client development and delivery of data center projects. The ideal candidate should have a proven background in successfully delivering various data center and mission critical projects ranging from upfront planning and pre-design activities through detail design, construction support and commissioning. In additional to managing and delivering projects (which is the primary focus of this role), the successful candidate must possess the drive, experience and charisma needed to develop and secure work from a robust global client base and expand upon HDR’s reputation within these markets. This individual will manage multi-disciplinary design teams from project conception to completion. Keen focus on organizational skills and follow-through are required to be successful in this role. This person will work closely with the Regional Building Engineering Services Business Group Managers as well as our global TMT client management team. Some travel to client sites or other HDR offices is required.\nAdditional Duties include:\nMentoring/Managing:\nHelp grow a team that works together to create a collaborative environment that promotes career growth, the production of high-quality construction documents, client satisfaction, and acts as a safety net for each other.\nCoordinate the work of multidiscipline design teams.\nMentor, organize, and facilitate the growth of staff.\nCoordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.\nMission Critical staff recruiting and retention.\nMarketing:\nEstablish client relations, and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings.\nAssist Marketing and Business Development groups in developing fee proposals and scope of work documents.\nPromote HDR through regular client interface.\nCollaborate on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods and standards, to achieve the established goals and objectives of the business group, region and company.\nTechnical:\nEnsure product deliverables meet quality standards.\nManage and lead project teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.\nControl project quality, schedule, scope, and budget.\nForecasting, invoicing, and contract management.\nCreate vital proposal content including scope, schedule, and budget.\nAssist HDR in interview and interview preparation/presentations.\nWork cooperatively with local office leads, other business groups, technical directors and marketing managers.\nPerform other duties as needed.\nTravel: Some travel to job sites or other HDR offices could be required. This would be communicated in advance to give adequate coordination time with project work and personal life. \nPreferred Qualifications\nMinimum of 5 years leadership experience in the areas of site programming, project planning, design, construction and/or commissioning\nPrevious Data Center/Mission Critical experience an architectural/engineering, or engineering consulting firm is desired.\nStrong desire to stay current with the trends of the fast-paced industry of mission critical.\nMust have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills\nWorking knowledge of the following standards: Uptime Topology standards, ASHRAE TC 9.9, and the ISO standards regarding PUE, CUE, and WUE.\nWorking knowledge of Newforma Project Center and/or ProjectWise Document Management Software\nExcellent organizational and communication skills\nStrongly motivated and showing professional initiative.\nFocused on client outcomes.\nWorking knowledge of current industry standards \nStrong organizational and time management skills to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in related field \n7 years related experience \nA minimum of 2 years project management experience \nMust have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills \nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must\nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
