Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.\nIn the role of Field Engineer/Resident Project Representative, we'll count on you to:\nRead and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents\nMaintain accurate daily records of the contractor's daily activities and the work performed, and of the labor, equipment and materials used\nReview construction materials for Contract compliance\nTrack quantities and develop pay estimates for acceptance\nAttend and/or chair construction progress meetings\nConduct observations of the installation and acceptance testing of completed equipment and systems\nIdentify nonconforming work, develop project punchlists and maintain until corrected\nDevelop record documentation for engineer review/acceptance\nAssist with project audit/closeout\nWork under general supervision of a Design Project Manager\nSupervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and subconsultants\nPreferred Qualifications\nE.I.T. or Professional Engineer (PE) license desirable\n\nCertified Construction Manager (CMM) certification is recommended\n\nCandidates hired without their PE will have the title of Resident Project Representative\n\n2 or more years of New York City Transit experience\n\nTrack Training\n\nOSHA 30\n\nPMG123\n\nAbility to interpret construction schedules\n\nAbility to problem solve and provide possible solutions to the engineer\n\nAbility to use computers and other electronic devices\n\nLocal candidates to NYC area able to work within the 5 NY Boroughs\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience \nA minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects \nMust have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction \nMust possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents \nMust be able to work in a team environment \nMust be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages \nMust have excellent verbal and written communication skills \nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must \nSponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position\nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
