This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence.\nHDR requires a Construction Contract Administrator to represent HDR on project sites and administer construction contracts as we support our clients build data centres in Alberta.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nThe Construction Contract Administrator will be responsible for construction coordination, field response, observation and documentation for administering the construction contract.\nIn the role of Resident Project Representative II, we'll count on you to:\nPossess a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction. \nRead and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents\nAttend coordination meetings and regular construction progress meetings with the Owner and the Contractor.\nWork with the HDR Project Manager to evaluate project schedules and prepare status reports.\nCoordinate submittals (shop drawings, samples) reviews and mock-up reviews\nWork with the design team to resolve Requests for Information (RFIs), and issue Supplemental Instructions and manage construction Contract Changes\nMaintain accurate daily records of the contractor’s daily activities and the work performed, and of the labor, equipment and materials used\nPhotograph construction progress and catalog photos for future reference.\nReview construction materials for Contract compliance\nReview Contractor pay requests, including stored materials; track progress for certification of payment\nConduct observations of the installation and witness acceptance testing of completed equipment and systems\nIdentify nonconforming work, develop project punchlists and maintain until corrected\nAssist with project audit/closeout\nWork under general supervision of a Design Project Manager\nSupervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and subconsultants\nPreferred Qualifications\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) license or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) certification\nAbility to interpret construction schedules\nAbility to problem-solve and provide possible solutions to the engineer\nThorough knowledge of materials, means, methods and equipment used on multi-disciplinary construction projects.\nExperience with construction scheduling, cost controls, and quality (quality control/quality assurance). \nExperience with preparing Daily Reports, Nonconformance Notifications, and other reports or documentation.\nExperience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, construction document management platforms, Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar software packages used on design and construction projects.\nFirst Aid / CPR/AED certification.\nLocal candidates are preferred.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience\nA minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects\nMust have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction\nMust possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents\nMust be able to work in a team environment\nMust be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages\nMust have excellent verbal and written communication skills\nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must\n\nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
