This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to drive infrastructure forward, power innovation and leave your mark on our energy future.\nIn the role of Environmental Scientist II, we'll count on you to\nCollect project-related data, which may include research, conducting surveys for listed species, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, land use, etc\nAssimilate and manage data\nPrepare constraints mapping\nDefine the level of environmental analysis required\nConduct environmental impact assessments\nPerform complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods\nAssist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings\nAssist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance\nWork independently on medium-size projects, or assist more-senior scientists on larger projects\nPerform other related duties as needed\nPhysical Requirements\nMust be able to complete field site visits and record natural resource data in conditions that include sloped terrain, thick vegetation, and inclement weather\nMust be able to lift up to 20 pounds without assistance\nMust be able to effectively communicate in person, by telephone and email\nMust be able to effectively work in minimally supervised and/or unsupervised environments\nWork hours other than 8 to 5 which may include weekends and/or night shifts\nMust have a valid Driver's License\nMust be able to operate a motor vehicle day or night\nThere will be required travel for project work based on the needs of the business \nPreferred Qualifications\nPreference given to local candidates\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field \n5 years technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documents \nProficient with MS Office (Word, Excel) \nStrong environmental writing and communication skills \nStrong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities \nAbility to work independently and as part of a team \nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must \nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
