Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.\nIn the role of Fire Protection Designer/EIT, we'll count on you to:\nAssist on the fire protection portions of projects under the direction of a Senior Fire Protection Engineer\nMeet with clients and contractors\nInterpret engineering data for designers and drafters\nCheck the drawings on a continuing basis to ensure accuracy and completeness, and promote the skills of designers and drafters\nMonitor the schedule and budgets for projects\nReview and summarize applicable codes, and record them for inclusion in the design record\nCoordinate work with other disciplines and consultants\nCheck contract documents and shop drawings, and answer requests for information\nAssist in writing the specifications in conjunction with the Technical Services Department\nPerform other duties as needed\nPreferred Qualifications\nEngineer in Training (EIT) certificate\nCandidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression\nA minimum of 2 years Fire & Life Safety design experience in systems design or regulatory enforcement\nPrevious experience with an architectural/engineering consulting firm or former role specific to Fire & Life Safety \nNICET certification\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering\nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must\nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
