This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to drive infrastructure forward, power innovation and leave your mark on our energy future.\nHDR Engineering is looking for a Substation Team Lead to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals.\nThe primary role of a Substation Team Lead includes managing all aspects of substation engineering projects of all sizes and complexity, including scope and/or proposal development, project team development and assignment, project execution, project closeout, and quality control, schedule, and budget management. You will also be supervising and growing a local team of engineers and technicians to support projects and engaging in business development activities to support existing and new clients in the region.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nAs Substation Team Lead, we'll count on you to:\nBe responsible for establishing the Power Delivery relationship with one or more local, key clients. This includes overseeing project execution, driving quality and delivery for that client, technical leadership, marketing new opportunities, and profitability to achieve business objectives.\n\nSupervise and continue to grow a local substation team of engineers and designers and provide oversight over workload, quality, utilization, team morale, training, and performing annual performance reviews of team members.\nUnderstand basic project management tools and techniques including client goals and objectives, contract types and project risk, work breakdown structures, project scope, schedule, and budget, financial management and controls, including earned value, and project closeout.\nCollaborate with substation team members across the region and nationally and balance staff workload, quality, utilization, team morale, and training.\nEstablish a network of relationships with technical peers in other offices and leverage those relationships and resources in work-sharing opportunities.\nCoordinate with marketing and technical leadership for business development.\nMust thoroughly understand and implement the HDR Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements, processes, and procedures.\nMay also be responsible for overseeing non-engineering components of projects, including public involvement, environmental permitting, right of way acquisition, construction management, and other services.\nWorks independently and may direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise one or more Project Engineers, Engineers in Training, and/or junior design staff.\nPerform client management, project management and/or technical support activities.\nRepresent HDR to support marketing and proposal development for new opportunities.\nSome travel for business development and execution may be required.\nPerform other duties as needed\nPreferred Qualifications\nProject Management Professional (PMP) or ability to obtain is desired.\n\nProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.\nExisting familiarity with Idaho based utilities is desired.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree or equivalent experience\nA minimum of 7 years experience \nProfessional registration, license or certification may be required based on role \nStrong communication and listening skills \nAbility to handle multiple assignments \nGood leadership and organizational skills \nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must \nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
