Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.\nAs a Transmission Line Engineering Manager in a well-established Power Delivery practice, you’ll draw upon your broad technical knowledge and experience in design and construction of high voltage Transmission Line projects to lead, guide, and advise clients, projects, and teams. Having previously performed a leading technical role on increasingly complex transmission line projects, you’ll be ready to undertake greater challenges and responsibilities. You will develop a partnership with the Project Manager (PM), whereas the PM is responsible for scope, schedule, budget, and overall client management, you will be responsible for technical execution of the project.\nAs a Transmission Line Engineering Manager your role will encompass the following:\nLeveraging technical experience and expertise while working in close coordination with a PM, to manage and execute the engineering and design components of transmission projects.\nDeveloping and implementing a project execution plan for the technical aspect of transmission projects. \nWorking independently and/or directing, mentoring, training, and/or supervising one or more Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, CADD technicians and administrative staff. \nSupporting the technical aspect of scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development, work breakdown structure development and implementation, progress assessment, risk assessment/mitigation, change management, and schedule management.\nCoordinating and/or leading the QA/QC process on projects per HDR’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements with a commitment to delivering world class quality.\nPerforming quality checks and/or reviews of projects from other teams as needed.\nParticipating in project reviews as needed.\nAt times, leading multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations.\nWorking with senior engineers and technical leaders to identify and develop specific technical expertise and attending training and seminars focused on further development and understanding of complex concepts related to the transmission industry.\nAt times, assisting with development of technical papers and/or presentations that showcase HDR’s technical capabilities at industry conferences or other events.\nOther duties as required.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Architectural considered), Master's degree a plus.\nPE license preferred.\n10+ years of transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility and/or renewables industry.\nTransmission line design experience using PLS-CADD, steel and wood transmission structure analysis/design, foundation design, material procurement, specifications, and construction support.\nExposure to transmission line siting/routing, environmental permitting and right of way acquisition.\nDistribution line design and/or steel lattice tower modeling and design experience a plus.\nTrack record of working cooperatively with diverse teams; regional, department, and technical managers; and project staff preferred.\nExperience working with Renewables developers and/or the interconnection of Renewables a plus.\nProficient with Microsoft Office.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must\nCandidates who reside locally are preferred.\nKeywords: Transmission Line, Substation, Power Delivery, Utility, Professional Engineer, Civil Engineering\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree or equivalent experience\nA minimum of 10 years experience \nProfessional registration, license or certification may be required based on role \nStrong communication and listening skills \nAbility to handle multiple assignments \nGood leadership and organizational skills \nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must \nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
