This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to drive meaningful change and help define the future of our communities.\nWe are looking for a creative, team-oriented landscape architect to join our Urban Design, Planning & Landscape Architecture studio in Vancouver, BC. This position requires a versatile professional who is eager to collaborate on multi-disciplinary teams. Our design teams work with a diverse range of clients to create vibrant places ranging from urban parks, plazas and streetscapes to health or education campuses, and mobility corridors. Growth and advancement opportunities will be dependent on the successful candidate’s ability to demonstrate skills and assume responsibility.\nIn the role of Landscape Architect, we'll count on you to:\nDevelop site and public realm design through all phases of projects, from master planning and concept development through construction documents and construction observation.\nCreate illustrative concept drawings using 2D and 3D digital illustration tolls, free-hand drawing, and digital color rendering.\nParticipate in zoning and site plan approvals, public engagement, design charrettes, development programming, design review and implementation.\nProvide construction observation, including field observation of landscape installation and plant selection.\nCoordinate workload to ensure deadlines are met, reviewing documents for areas of conflict with other disciplines.\nCollaborate with architects, planners, engineers and other disciplines on commercial and institutional-scale planning and design projects.\nMeet with client representatives as needed.\nProvide excellent communication, time management, graphic and organizational skills.\nPerform other duties as needed.\nPreferred Qualifications\nA minimum of 6 years' experience working as a landscape architect / landscape designer within the region. Experience working in other regions across Canada in addition to BC is also considered an asset.\nProfessional registration, or eligibility for professional registration as a Landscape Architect in British Columbia.\nExperience and passion for sustainable and/or regenerative design.\nStrong planning and design skills, with experience in urban and institutional-scale projects. \nExperience with the full range of planning and design phases including site analysis, community and site planning, conceptual development, grading, construction documentation and observation.\nProficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and experience working with Revit in construction documentation. \nProficiency in 3D modeling and rendering with programs such as Rhino, Sketchup, Grasshopper, VRay, Lumion.\nExperience with Land FX, Bluebeam Revu, and AI-assisted design visualization and rendering is desirable. \nDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary design teams.\nKnowledge of local plant materials, terminology and planting design in urban settings.\nExcellent communication, time management, graphic and organizational skills.\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering \nProfessional registration \nExperience with MS Office, AutoCAD and Photoshop \nAble to prepare site plans and understand the principles of grading and drainage \nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must \nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
