Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.\nIn the role of Senior Communications Specialist, we will count on you to:\nProvide high-level liaison work between external stakeholders, such as elected officials, businesses, and community and special interest groups regarding the project\nPlan and implement, or attend publicity efforts, strategies, and outreach programs to define community needs, obtain their input, gain their support, and promote the Projects \nMeet and confer with agency staff, external stakeholders, and project contractors to resolve conflicting or divergent opinions and to reach mutually acceptable solutions \nResearch incidents, complaints, and concerns, including difficult and sensitive problems, and interfaces with contractors and management to resolve issues \nRecommend strategies to promote agency′s strategic goals and objectives \nPrepare and make presentations to management, public officials, community groups, schools and other stakeholders \nProvide support to project management and the department, and interdepartment management in Board presentations, community outreach, and in coordinating construction activities and mitigations \nProvide input in creating useful communication tools and methods \nDevelop content for collateral material to educate the public on construction activities \nKeep the community and elected officials informed of construction impacts related to construction projects \nRemain up to date on current and proposed activities and programs, and applicable regulations by attending Board, project, and community meetings. \nPrepare correspondence, reports, newsletter, and talking materials, as requested, by management or public officials \nPlan and conduct safety education outreach before and during construction projects \nCoordinate and conduct tours of the Project\nPreferred Qualifications\nA minimum of 5 years of experience in Community Relations dealing with the interface of construction activities, government agencies, businesses and the general public \nBachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, political science or other related field is desirable \nProficiency in a 2nd language such as Spanish is preferred\nRequired Qualifications\nA minimum of 5 years experience in a communications field of expertise: social media, event planning, community engagement, target marketing, descriptive writing, public involvement, etc \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nSelf-motivated and ability to work independent with multiple teams as well as team oriented \nGreat interpersonal and communication skills - positive outlook and attitude \nHigh aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues \nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must \nComfortable and competent while working with senior leaders and managing cross-functional efforts \nDemonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment \nCommitted to quality, continuous improvement, and HDR values \nProficient in Adobe Creative Suite - InDesign \nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite \nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
