Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.\nHDR is seeking a Senior Engineering Project Manager - Alternative Delivery Experience, to lead multidisciplinary engineering projects for U.S. government clients. This role will work closely with project teams to deliver projects across California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah.\nProject assignments may include multidisciplinary design services from schematic design and design development through preparation of construction documents for federal facility and infrastructure projects of varying sizes and complexity. Develop and maintain integrated controls connecting design progress, estimate maturity, procurement milestones, construction sequencing, staffing, risk, changes, and forecast-to-complete performance. Provide timely, decision-oriented reporting to HDR leadership and the design-builder.\nThe portfolio includes horizontal and vertical construction; military, international, and interagency support projects; facilities sustainment, restoration, and modernization (FSRM); asset management; and military planning. Assignments are delivered under architect-engineer (A-E) indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contracts or Other Transaction Authority (OTA) solicitations.\nIn the role of Senior Engineering Project Manager - Alternative Delivery Experience, we'll count on you to:\nLead Federal DB and PDB assignments from capture and preconstruction through design, construction support, and closeout.\n\nServe as the primary interface with the design-builder, Federal owner, internal alternative delivery project team, teaming partners, and subconsultants.\n\nEstablish clear Project Manager, Design Manager, Quality Manager, and discipline-lead responsibilities.\n\nIntegrate design progress with estimate maturity, procurement, construction sequencing, staffing, and risk.\n\nLead design-to-budget, constructability, value-analysis, design-validation, and package-release activities.\n\nManage designer-of-record scope boundaries, contract flow-downs, change entitlement, contingency, and commercial exposure.\n\nCoordinate delegated-design requirements and design integration with trade partners and specialty designers.\n\nDrive timely decisions and escalate unresolved technical, commercial, quality, or schedule risks.\n\nApply HDR’s quality, safety, and project management requirements, including quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nCoordinate project staffing and workload with operational and business leadership to effectively utilize resources and meet project commitments.\n\nLead pursuit-to-project transition so proposal commitments, assumptions, innovations, exclusions, and risks are transferred into the execution plan.\n\nDevelop relationships with priority Federal design-build contractors and support opportunity-specific positioning.\n\nMentor Federal PMs and Design Managers in contractor-led delivery.\n\nCapture lessons learned and contribute to the Federal DB playbook, tools, and delivery standards.\n\nPerform other duties as needed\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Business Administration, Sciences, or a closely related field.\n\nRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)\n\nProfessional certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Design-Build Professional (DBIA), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).\n\nExperience with collaborative and alternative project delivery methods, including Design-Build (DB), Progressive Design-Build (PDB), and/or Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR).\n\nDemonstrated experience successfully managing complex federal design projects, including projects with construction values exceeding $25 million.\n\nProject management experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) clients, with direct experience working with NAVFAC, USACE, and/or AFCEC strongly preferred.\n\nProven record of building and maintaining strong client relationships, delivering excellent client service, and achieving high levels of client satisfaction.\n\nExperience leading large, multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams, including internal staff, teaming partners, and subconsultants.\n\nAbility to develop and manage project scopes, fees, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and contract requirements for complex federal projects.\n\nU.S. citizenship and the ability to successfully complete required background screening and obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC).\n\nWillingness and ability to travel to client sites, project locations, and HDR offices to support project delivery and client engagement.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering \n10 years related experience \nA minimum 5 years project management experience \nRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
