This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to drive meaningful change and help define the future of our communities.\nIn the role of Senior Project Manager- Architecture, we'll count on you to:\nLead and coordinate single- and multidiscipline teams throughout the full project lifecycle, from pursuit, contracting, and project initiation through design, construction administration, commissioning, and closeout.\n\nAssume overall accountability for the successful delivery of large, complex, and multidisciplinary architectural projects, including client satisfaction, scope, quality, schedule, budget, risk, staffing, and contractual performance.\n\nManage a portfolio of concurrent projects and assignments, establishing priorities, allocating resources, monitoring performance, and resolving conflicts across project teams.\n\nDevelop and maintain trusted client relationships, lead or support client engagement, contract negotiations, project interviews, pursuit strategy, fee development, and scope definition.\n\nIdentify follow-on work and new business opportunities in collaboration with market-sector, business-development, and operational leadership.\n\nPlan and facilitate client, user-group, stakeholder, and project-team work sessions that establish requirements, resolve decisions, manage expectations, and advance project deliverables.\n\nLead engagement with complex client organizations, user groups, authorities having jurisdiction, agency representatives, and other stakeholders with competing operational, technical, and regulatory requirements.\n\nDevelop and maintain project staffing plans, responsibility assignments, workload forecasts, and resource projections throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nCoordinate with discipline and operational leadership to secure qualified resources, address staffing constraints, and implement recovery plans when project performance is at risk.\n\nEstablish and manage project budgets, work plans, earned-value expectations, revenue forecasts, invoicing, accounts receivable, and financial performance.\n\nMonitor actual performance against scope, fee, schedule, and staffing assumptions, and implement corrective actions when variances occur.\n\nLead periodic project reviews with Accounting, Operations, Business Group, and Market Sector leadership; accurately report project status, financial performance, risk, staffing, and corrective actions.\n\nDocument review outcomes and ensure that assigned actions are completed and tracked to closure.\n\nDevelop and implement project-specific quality management plans and ensure that required QA/QC, interdisciplinary coordination, constructability, technical, and document-control reviews are properly planned, staffed, documented, and completed.\n\nConfirm that comments are resolved before deliverables are issued and elevate unresolved technical, quality, or delivery risks to appropriate leadership.\n\nLead and supervise large project teams, establish clear expectations and accountability, and provide timely coaching and feedback.\n\nMentor less-experienced Project Managers and Project Architects in project planning, client management, financial management, risk management, quality, and team leadership.\n\nSupport succession planning and development of the next generation of project-delivery leaders.\n\nPerform other duties as needed.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster's degree in Architecture\n\nExperience in the areas of healthcare, higher education, laboratories, or federal facilities\n\nExperience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED\n\nPMP certification\n\nNote: This Senior Project Manager- Architecture role may be aligned with either our Healthcare, Education & Science, or Federal groups. We welcome candidates with experience in either market, and the position is structured to support strong architectural talent across a range of backgrounds.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Architecture \n10 years related experience \nA minimum 5 years project management experience \nRegistered Architect \nMust be able to lead a team on projects \nExperience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) \nKnowledge and experience within the local and regional market \nGood planning and mentoring skills \nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must\nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
