Carry out detailed design and calculations, assist and prepare designs, specifications, reports and drawings to the design programme. Oversee and direct both CAD/Revit Technicians and Junior/Graduate Engineers, as required. Someone who is personable, a self-starter with the ability to project a positive ‘can do’ professional attitude at all times maintaining good working relationships, with the ability to work under pressure, handle a varied workload and keep to tight deadlines whilst maintaining the highest level of technical excellence.\nResponsibilities\nIn the role of Senior Structural Engineer, we'll count on you to:\nDesign and assist supervising projects, establish client brief, technical requirements, scope of works, cost plans and agree deliverables, i.e., reports, calculations, specifications, schedules and drawings scope for all projects with your Group Leader or Line Manager.\nAgree level of service and project design duties with your Group Leader or Line Manager, for each project, understanding the relationship with the fee.\nAssist Group Leader with monitoring engineering/CAD/Revit resource requirements for each project within your control.\nCarry out engineering concept design to detailed designs, tender and contract. \nAttend meetings and attend site to review/monitor works and to undertake surveys, as required to progress the projects. \nLiaise with the design team to produce co-ordinated designs.\nProvide positive contribution to design/project meetings, as directed where required. Maintain regular ‘in house’ design reviews and checks.\nMonitor and control project progress, design variations and project financial budgets where applicable.\nMaintain excellent client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nSkills and Experience\nBEng, MSc in Structural or Civil Engineering or an equivalent subject/qualification \nMinimum 5yrs experience in Structural Engineering designing and managing projects within a design consultancy, engineering firm or main contractor. \nExperience in Structural design for data centres is Highly advantageous. \nOngoing pursuit of Chartered status and/or business qualifications where applicable.\nGood knowledge and use of appropriate project and structural design analysis software such as Revit and Tekla\nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
