We are all employee-owners at HDR, which is the foundation of our collaborative culture that connects employees around the world.\nHDR is looking for a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our South Carolina Area Transportation Business Group in Charleston, SC. In this role, we'll count on you to:\nLead a team of engineers and EITs to deliver a variety of traffic-related projects, including capacity analysis reports, traffic forecasting, simulation modeling, roadway design support, signal design transit design support, and more. Work as a Task Lead under the direction of a Project Engineer / Manager or serve as a Project Manager as needed.\nConduct operational traffic analysis using a variety of modeling tools, ranging from highway capacity software to complex micro simulation models; analyze everything from isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban arterials and freeway segments.\nParticipate in traffic signal design and traffic signal timing projects; including but not limited to, drafting signal plans, conducting field visits, preparing signal timing calculations, developing quantity takeoffs and preparing cost estimates.\nProvide technical support to junior staff.\nTake a proactive approach to learning, developing your skillset, and understanding the industry.\n\nPerform other duties as needed.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred\nSupplemental licensure, such as PTOE and/or RSP are preferred\nComputer skills using Microsoft Office, Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, Vissim/Visum, ArcGIS, TransModeler, AutoCAD and MicroStation\nLocal candidates are preferred\n*LI-SM1\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree\nA minimum of 10 years' experience in ITS and traffic engineering for urban and rural highways, major and minor interchanges and intersections \nRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.\n\nKnowledge of regulations of state and federal transportation agencies \nProficiency with Microsoft Office \nExperience using HCS, CORSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic and other software packages \nStrong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and ability to work in a team environment \nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must \nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
