We are all employee-owners at HDR, which is the foundation of our collaborative culture that connects employees around the world.\nIn the role of Transportation Hydraulics Engineering Intern, we will:\nOffer real-world experience on exciting transportation and water resources projects\nProvide opportunities to work with experienced engineers on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater management, and drainage design.\nDemonstrate the benefits of being a part of an employee-owned company\nProvide opportunities to connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs\nIn the role ofTransportation Hydraulics Engineering Intern, we will count on you to:\nAssist with hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations and engineering calculations for transportation projects.\nSupport preparation of drainage maps, technical memoranda, and engineering reports.\nAssist with stormwater management facility design calculations and modeling.\nSupport floodplain impact evaluations, floodplain compensation analyses, and bridge hydraulics/scour assessments.\nAssist with preparation of construction plans, specifications, quantity calculations, and cost estimates.\nDevelop and update civil design drawings using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or other design software.\nAssist with drainage permitting documentation and regulatory coordination activities.\nParticipate in site visits and field investigations to support project development and design.\nPerform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional engineer or project manager.\nPerform other duties as needed.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPreferred focus in civil engineering with coursework in water resources, hydraulics, hydrology, transportation, or related disciplines. \nPrefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA\nDemonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry\nInternship will be held in the Denver office, preference will be given to returning and local candidates\nRequired Qualifications\nCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program \nAttention to detail\nPossess strong problem-solving and communication skills \nBasic Microsoft Office skills \nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must \nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
