We are all employee-owners at HDR, which is the foundation of our collaborative culture that connects employees around the world.\nIn the role of Transportation Planner, job responsibilities will vary depending on the strengths of the potential candidate and opportunities available, but will generally include:\nTraffic Modelling / Traffic Operations Analysis\nField Surveys / Observations\nTraffic Impact / Development Studies\nSignal Optimization / Traffic Signal Coordination\nTransit Operation Studies\nMicrosimulation (Vissim/Aimsun)\nSafety / Collision Analysis\nData Processing and Analytics\nGIS / Mapping\nJob Skills\nA self starter, comfrotable working in team environment\nExcellent with oral and wrtiten communication skills\nFluency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint) \nFluency with Synchro, Aimsun or Vissim\nProgramming skills in languages such as Python and R is an asset\nWorking knowledge in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and/or analytic tools such as Tableau/PowerBI is an asset\nProgressive and innovative approach to problem-solving an asset \nKnowledge of geometric roadway design, traffic engineering, travel demand modeling, transit service planning, active transportation an asset \nKnowledge and application of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Process (MCEA), Transit Project Assessment Process (TPAP), TAC Manual, MTO Geometrics Design Manual \nPreferred Qualifications\nTwo/three years of experience in transportation engineering including traffic operations studies, traffic signals, transit priority, meso/microsimulation modelling, highway and transit infrastructure projects, master and secondary plans, environmental assessments, traffic impact studies, traffic safety, pedestrian and cycling studies, and traffic management plan is an asset. \nExperience with projects involving pedestrian simulation modelling for transit stations and other public facilities\nExperience with projects involving LRT, BRT, or subway / heavy rail is an asset\nFamiliarity with planning policies and guiding documents in the Greater Toronto Area is an asset\nExperience working on MTO, Metrolinx, TTC, York Region, Peel Region, Durham Region, or City of Toronto projects preferred. \nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree \nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must \nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
