Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.\nWe are seeking motivated Water/Wastewater Interns to join our team part-time in the Spring 2027! This internship offers hands-on experience\nsupporting engineers and project managers on impactful infrastructure projects that help shape our communities. Depending on your interests and project needs, you may contribute to one or more of the following areas:\nWater/Wastewater & Civil Site\nAssist with the planning, design, and delivery of water, wastewater, and site development projects.\n\nSupport the preparation of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and engineering reports. \nPerform engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions. \nParticipate in site visits, field investigations, and construction-phase support activities, including submittal and RFI\nreviews.\n\nWater Resources\nSupport projects involving flood risk reduction, dams, levees, stormwater systems, wetlands, and river restoration. \nAssist with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, data analysis, and water resources studies. \nPrepare design calculations, technical reports, and presentations.\nGeotechnical/Tunneling\nAssist with geotechnical and tunneling analyses and design for tunnels, underground structures, excavations, andfoundations. \n\nSupport subsurface investigations, fieldwork, geotechnical reporting, and engineering evaluations. \nContribute to numerical modeling, design calculations, technical documentation, and construction observation activities. \nGain exposure to a variety of tunneling methods, ground support systems, and multidisciplinary project coordination. \nPerform other duties as assigned.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCurrent Civil Engineering or Biosystems student \nPreference given to local candidates. \nRelevant coursework, projects, internship, or research experience in engineering or a related field. \nFamiliarity with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, MATLAB, Python, or similar tools. \nExposure design, analysis, modeling, field investigations, construction, or data collection activities. \nStrong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills with an interest in infrastructure and civil engineering projects. \nPrefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA\nDemonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry\nRequired Qualifications\nCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program \nAttention to detail\nPossess strong problem-solving and communication skills \nBasic Microsoft Office skills \nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must \nWhat We Believe\nHDR is our company.
