This role will participate in a variety of engineering assignments including requirements analysis, concept generation, mechanical design, implementation, testing, and documentation for military, government and commercial customers. This role will focus on CBRN and CWS (containerized weapon) and other upcoming integrated systems. The Mechanical Engineer role will work on multiple projects of moderate size or on portions of major projects. Position is 100% on-site.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nStrong mechanical fundamentals (statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, etc), strong understanding of electrical/electronic skills is a plus\nPerforms complex design, trade studies and research tasks to support the development of mechanical and electrical systems within integrated products\nAbility to conceptualize and implement the design of complex systems and mechanisms to support customer specifications and requirements\nDesigns a complete project, system, component, or process and prepares project documents including test reports, technical reports, progress reports and final project reports as required.\nDesigns and conducts experiments, analyzes and interprets data, formulates and solves problems\nDrafting of production drawings for machined parts, fabrications and weldments, COTS parts, assemblies, and schematics using SolidWorks and other related tools\nStatic and dynamic structural analysis using a variety of tools including both hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA)\nUnderstanding of materials needed to optimize strength, weight, cost, and performance\nUnderstands machining and manufacturing processes to optimize cost without sacrificing performance\nParticipates in the review of design, manufacturing, procedures, military specifications, inspection analyses, and test documentation to ensure quality requirements are met\nAssists lab and production personnel with hands-on manufacture, assembly, and inspection of new/revised products (prototypes and first articles)\nCreate/maintain BOMs using Excel and SAP software\nEDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:\nBS degree in Mechanical Engineering\n4-6 years’ experience in similar technical role\nMilitary/ defense experience desired\nKnowledge of MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-464 is preferred\nDemonstrated 3D CAD design experience (SolidWorks CAD preferred)\nExperience in GD&T\nKnowledgeable of a variety of manufacturing processes (milling, turning, welding, sheet metal fabrication, surface finish processes, coatings)\nMechanically inclined and able to problem-solve with little information\nStrong computer skills including demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office, especially Excel)\nQuality orientation and high attention to details\nStrong, proven organizational and time management skills\nRoutinely punctual\nWhat WE offer:\nEmployees (and their families) are covered by Medical, Dental and Vision\nEmployees are covered by Short Term and Long Term Disability and Basic Life Insurance, Paid 100% by the company\nCompany matching 401(k) plan\n10 standard holidays, plus one floating holiday\nPTO\n“This position requires access to or use of export-controlled technical data or technology controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
