teams.\nExperience liaising with external auditors, SARS, banks and other relevant stakeholders.\nResponsibilities:\nFinancial Management and Reporting\nManage and oversee the full financial function of the business.\nOversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes.\nPrepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.\nPrepare annual financial statements and supporting schedules.\nEnsure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and financial records.\nAnalyse financial results and provide meaningful commentary on business performance.\nPresent financial reports, insights and recommendations to senior management.\nDevelop, implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures.\nLiaise with external auditors, bankers, insurers and other stakeholders.\nEnsure financial records comply with applicable accounting standards.\nBudgeting, Forecasting and Financial Planning\nLead and coordinate the annual budgeting process.\nPrepare and maintain rolling financial forecasts.\nDevelop, monitor and review departmental budgets.\nPrepare detailed cash flow forecasts and financial projections.\nConduct variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, recommending corrective action where necessary.\nDevelop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.\nMonitor key financial performance indicators and report on financial performance.\nSupport management in evaluating capital expenditure, investment opportunities and business initiatives.\nManufacturing Costing and Profitability Management\nDevelop and maintain accurate manufacturing and product costing models.\nAnalyse direct labour, material and overhead costs.\nMonitor standard costing, cost absorption and manufacturing cost methodologies.\nReview manufacturing efficiencies and investigate cost variances.\nMonitor scrap, waste and rework costs and recommend cost-saving initiatives.\nConduct profitability analysis by product, project, customer and business unit.\nSupport pricing strategies and review quotations to ensure appropriate margins.\nPartner with operational teams to improve productivity, cost efficiencies and profitability.\nEnsure accurate valuation of work-in-progress (WIP), raw materials and finished goods.\nInventory and Supply Chain Financial Control\nOversee inventory accounting, valuation and reporting processes.\nMonitor inventory levels and associated working capital requirements.\nParticipate in stock counts and cycle counts.\nInvestigate stock variances and implement appropriate corrective measures.\nMaintain strong financial controls over inventory movements and transactions.\nCollaborate with procurement and operations teams to optimise inventory management.\nMonitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory and recommend appropriate action.\nEnsure accurate reporting of inventory and manufacturing-related costs.\nCash Flow and Working Capital Management\nManage daily cash flow requirements and liquidity.\nMonitor debtor collections and creditor payment cycles.\nImplement strategies to improve working capital performance.\nManage banking relationships and banking facilities.\nReview and approve payment runs and treasury activities.\nIdentify cash flow risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.\nEnsure sufficient liquidity to support ongoing operational requirements.\nCompliance, Governance and Risk Management\nEnsure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and company policies.\nOversee VAT, PAYE, income tax and other statutory obligations.\nEnsure accurate and timely submission of statutory returns.\nMaintain effective internal controls and financial governance practices.\nCoordinate internal and external audits and address audit findings.\nIdentify, assess and manage financial risks.\nEnsure compliance with IFRS for SMEs and other applicable accounting standards.\nDevelop, implement and maintain financial policies and procedures.\nReview and approve journal entries, reconciliations and intercompany account postings.\nInvestigate and report financial discrepancies across entities.\nMaintain accurate statutory and administrative documentation in accordance with applicable legislation and record-retention requirements.\nLeadership and Team Development\nLead, mentor and develop the finance team, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.\nSet performance objectives, monitor performance and conduct performance reviews.\nPromote accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement within the finance function.\nSupport succession planning, skills development and ongoing professional growth.\nDrive process efficiencies and improvements to finance systems and reporting.\nBuild strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across all departments.\nProvide proactive financial support and insight to senior management to facilitate informed business decisions.\nTake ownership of assigned responsibilities and ensure all deliverables are completed accurately and within required deadlines.\nIdentify opportunities for process improvement and implement practical, innovative financial management solutions.\nMaintain ongoing professional development and keep abreast of changes in South African financial, tax and governance
