Official plan documents govern all benefits.\nAbout the role\nThis is a full-time position in our design engineering team, responsible for the mechanical design and development of both prototype and production units across the entire product portfolio-from concept and detailed design through manufacturing release and support of Heads Up Technologies, Inc. products and systems.\nYou’ll be a hands-on design engineer responsible for your own components and assemblies, working under the guidance of senior engineers and the Mechanical Engineering Manager, and collaborating closely with electrical, software teams.This is a full-time position in our design engineering team, responsible for the mechanical design and development of both prototype and production units across the entire product portfolio-from concept and detailed design through manufacturing release and support of Heads Up Technologies, Inc. products and systems.\nKey Details\nWorkdays and Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility to set schedule.\nLocation: Addison, Texas\nWork Eligibility: Must be a United States citizen.\nWhat you'll do\nOwn detailed design work of mechanical components & assemblies.\n3D modeling, assembly & component documentation, HALT testing, support tooling/ fixtures.\nResponsible for preparing and presenting mechanical designs at design reviews.\nParticipate in R&D and new product design efforts.\nCollaborate with other design groups (Electrical & Software) teams to ensure successful product integration and execution.\nSupport ECN’s (engineering change notices) with existing designs.\nSupport EOL (End of Life) efforts through component & material analysis and design updates.\nWork directly with suppliers, tooling vendors, and manufacturing partners to optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly, reliability, and cost.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) or equivalent.\nFive to Eight (5 - 8) years of post-graduation mechanical design experience.\nAbility to produce technical drawings and documents for internal and external customer use.\nProficiency with CAD software such as Solid Edge or similar modeling tools.\nHave design experience with one of the following manufacturing processes: sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, or billet machining.\nAbility to coordinate with the other discipline Engineers (EE & SE) within the department to produce multidisciplinary design solutions.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience designing aerospace, avionics, cabin interior, lighting, or other electromechanical products.\nHands-on experience designing injection-molded plastic parts, including draft, wall thickness, and tooling considerations for manufacturability.\nExperience designing utilizing GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.\nExperience designing components using plastic and/or metal extrusion processes.\nExperience designing machined components.\nExperience designing sheet metal enclosures (e.g., forming, bending, fastener selection, EMI/thermal considerations).\nExperience in aerospace, automotive, or medical device manufacturing.\nFamiliarity with FAA/ Aerospace design
