This role registered nursing expertise, assuring goals and objectives are obtained through the planning, implementing, and directing of programs, procedures, systems, and support personnel. Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Park Nicollet policy.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation, Experience or Equivalent Combination:\nGraduate from a course of study in nursing resulting in an associate degree, diploma or baccalaureate degree and at least one year related supervisory or three years related non-supervisory experience required.\nLicensure/ Registration/ Certification:\nCurrent state Registered Nursing License required and BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nProven leadership skills in organizing, planning, and directing an operation and its staff. \nIntermediate level computer/keyboarding skills required, including but not limited to email, word processing, spreadsheets, and calendar. \nDemonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients. \nProven proficiency in the operation of the following: Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, Defibrillator, Various Health Testing Devices (specific to the area of specialty), Blood Drawing or Injection Devices, Thermometer, and Blood Pressure Equipment.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES:\n(15%) - Interviews, hires, evaluates, coaches and disciplines support personnel for designated unit.\n(20%) - Directs and supervises the daily operation of the designated unit.\n(25%) - Assists in the development and implementation of new services, programs, procedures, systems, and materials for designated unit.\n(5%) - Coordinates employee’s orientation and staff development programs.\n((((15%) - May perform direct patient care activities.\n(Additional Expectations:\nComplies with safety instructions, observe safe work practices, provides input on safety issues, and promotes a safe work environment. \nMaintains regular and timely attendance. \nProtects confidentiality.\nDemonstrates participation in and support of the organization's Corporate Integrity Program by participating in compliance-related education and training and complying with the organization's policies and procedures. \nTimely completion of all mandatory education and organizational requirements (i.e., licensure/certification, Employee Health and Wellness requirements, annual training, etc.)\nLEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY:\nDirectly supervises all support staff including registered nurses, medical receptionists and surgery schedulers, team of 11 staff.
