This role works closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to develop competitive estimates, support project planning, and help ensure projects are financially viable and positioned for success. Through collaboration, communication, and technical expertise, this position contributes to both project outcomes and HEAPY Solutions’ colleague-first culture.\n Duties & Responsibilities\nMaintains a clear understanding of HEAPY’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values and demonstrates alignment in all responsibilities and interactions\nDevelops detailed and rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for MEP infrastructure projects, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and supporting construction activities\nReviews project drawings, specifications, studies, site visit information, schedules, and scope documents to develop accurate cost breakdowns and project budgets\nUtilizes estimating software and industry tools to prepare complete, accurate, and competitive estimates\nCollaborates with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to clarify scope, identify risks, and support successful project planning\nAssists with bid and proposal preparation by developing pricing strategies and supporting project pursuit efforts\nIdentifies value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions while maintaining project quality, functionality, and client expectations\nSupports project cost analysis, forecasting, and change order pricing while assisting assigned project managers throughout project execution\nMaintains strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and reliable market information\nEvaluates subcontractor and vendor proposals to support estimate accuracy and project success\nMaintains accurate estimating records, cost databases, bid documentation, and supporting project information\nPrepares reports and cost analyses for project teams, operations leadership, and clients as needed\nEnsures estimates align with applicable building codes, industry standards, safety requirements, and project specifications\nStays current on construction industry trends, MEP technologies, market conditions, and estimating best practices\nCollaborates with senior leadership, operations managers, and project teams to support successful project delivery and colleague engagement\nParticipates in ongoing professional development and actively seeks opportunities to expand technical knowledge and leadership skills\nThis role includes occasional travel to project sites throughout the Indianapolis and Central Indiana region.\nRepresents HEAPY Solutions culture in all interactions and contributes positively to team success\nPerforms other duties as assigned\nSkills, Knowledge & Expertise\nQUALIFICATIONS\nNormally requires 10+ years of experience in MEP construction estimating or related construction cost management roles, with demonstrated experience supporting commercial, industrial, and healthcare construction projects, or equivalent experience.\nOSHA Safety Training/Certification required or ability to obtain certification within the first two years of employment.\nStrong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems, construction practices, project sequencing, and construction cost estimating methodologies.\nSignificant experience preparing estimates for large, complex construction projects, preferably valued at $5 million or greater.\nExperience with MEP infrastructure upgrade, replacement, renovation, or modernization projects.\nHealthcare market experience is strongly preferred.\nDemonstrated ability to develop conceptual estimates and rough order of magnitude budgets for client capital planning and early project evaluation.\nExperience with estimating software and construction management platforms such as Bluebeam, Procore, Trimble, or similar tools.\nStrong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.\nExperience developing budgets, cost forecasts, bid proposals, and change order pricing.\nStrong communication, collaboration, negotiation, vendor management, and relationship-building skills.\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, studies, and contract documents.\nExperience coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and client stakeholders.\nStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\n PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT\nAbility to remain sedentary at desk for long periods of time while operating a keyboard and using a computer screen.\nAbility to operate a mouse, stylus, or similar tool to make adjustments on electronic visuals.\nAbility to see details of objects on a screen, including differences in colors, shades, and brightness.\nAbility to communicate in person, electronically and via phone with other individuals. \nPossession of Reliable transportation to and from the project.\nAbility to work in all elements of indoor and outdoor environments which include the heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, etc.\nAbility to access all areas of the jobsite with activities that include ascending and descending stairs, scaffolding, ladders, navigating elevation changes, etc.\nCapable of working in physical positions that may include maneuvering self into different positions traditionally is achieved by kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, bending over, etc.\nAbility to move, transport, or position items weighing up to 25 lbs.\nAbility to apply established protocols and practices in a timely manner. and follow safety guidelines for both company and clients.\nAbility to gather, organize
