HEAPY is seeking a Senior Level Mechanical Engineer to join our Colleague First culture in our Indianapolis office for our Healthcare team. You’ll be empowered to do meaningful work, develop lasting relationships, and be part of a team where your ideas, growth, and authentic self are truly valued.
The Senior Level Mechanical Engineer performs a variety of assignments involving the application of standard mechanical design engineering techniques for HEAPY projects. This colleague accomplishes specific objectives that involve different variables related to mechanical engineering systems in the Built Environment.

Base Qualifications
- Possession of a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent working knowledge/experience in a built environment with an advanced degree in engineering.
- Typically 6 - 9 years of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience/advanced degree in engineering) related to mechanical engineering systems in the Built Environment.
- Capability of exercising judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make design adaptations and modifications.
- Considerable experience using various computer software packages and automated mechanical engineering and design equipment.
- Possession of a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification and be working toward Professional Engineering (PE) Registration. PE registration would be attained within the first 2 years of attaining this position level.
- For higher level achievement, other relevant engineering education and credentials are typically desired, such as but not limited to: USGBC LEED GA, IESNA, ASPE, ASHRAE HFDP, or HBDP
