In this role, you will be a key team member in a new market for HEAPY, working with select colleagues to expand the business. This is a unique position that could put you in a highly visible role with both clients and leadership. This position accomplishes specific objectives that involve different variables related to mechanical engineering systems in the Built Environment.\nThis role offers the opportunity to grow your mechanical engineering career while contributing to meaningful projects.\n Click Here to Learn More About HEAPY!\nBase Qualifications\nPossession of a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent working knowledge/experience in a built environment with an advanced degree in engineering. \nTypically 6+ years of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience/advanced degree in engineering) related to mechanical engineering systems in the Built Environment. \nCapability of exercising judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make design adaptations and modifications. \nExperience using various computer software packages and automated mechanical engineering and design equipment. \nPossession of a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification and be working toward Professional Engineering (PE) Registration. PE registration would be attained within the first 2 years of attaining this position level.\nKey Responsibilities\nEnsures accurate input into the model or design tool and focuses on understanding the underlying reasons (i.e., ask questions).\nCollaborates with colleagues to prepare basic plan details and outlines, cost estimates, and perform calculations in support of broader engineering activities involving the design of mechanical equipment, components, or systems. \nGathers and records information for the preparation of design specifications. \nReviews/evaluates vendor (and at higher levels, approves) shop drawings, bids, and submittals to ensure compliance with specifications.\nPrepares designs, technical reports, and specifications for review and approval. \nCollaborates with colleagues to perform field observations, tests, and measurements, collect field data, and prepare designs, reports, and related documentation (commensurate with level).\nPerforms a variety of assignments involving the application of standard mechanical design engineering techniques for segments of projects, small projects, or larger projects (commensurate with level). \nLeverages AI and automation in design and project responsibilities as appropriate. \nMeets project deadlines with punctuality, monitoring progress, and ensuring deliverables meet requirements.\nEnsures project deliverables adhere to client project requirements, meet required standards and implements corrective action as needed.\nDelivers exceptional quality assurance to build trust, increase brand loyalty, and drive success and innovation. \nBuilds strong customer relationships by delivering exceptional service that exceeds expectations.\nEnhances design capabilities, continuously learns, collaborates, experiments, seeks feedback, and suggests new ideas and technologies.\nProactively seeks and engages in diverse experiences and learning opportunities to continually expand knowledge and leadership skills.\nAdditional responsibilities as requested/needed.\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\nAbility to remain sedentary at a workstation for long periods of time while operating a keyboard and using a computer screen.\nAbility to operate a mouse, stylus, or similar tool to make adjustments on electronic visuals.\nAbility to see details of objects on a screen, including differences in colors, shades, and brightness.\nAbility to communicate in person, electronically, and via phone with other individuals. \nPossession of reliable transportation to and from project sites.\nAbility to work in all elements of indoor and outdoor environments, which include the heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, etc.\nAbility to access all areas of the jobsite with activities that include ascending and descending stairs, scaffolding, ladders, navigating elevation changes, etc.\nCapable of working in physical positions that may include maneuvering oneself into different positions traditionally achieved by kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, bending over, etc.\nAbility to move, transport, or position items weighing up to 25 lbs.\nAbility to apply established protocols and practices in a timely manner and follow safety guidelines for both the company and clients.\nAbility to gather, organize, and evaluate information related to projects and calculations (such as cost analysis, facility assessments, design calculations, etc.).\nNOTE\n\nThis job description is not designed to state or imply that the listed responsibilities are the only duties to be performed by the colleague in this position.
