The Regional Accounting Manager works with Regional Controllers and station Business Managers to accurately prepare monthly financial results for designated stations assigned within the Region. The position is involved in the preparation and analysis of the stations’ annual operating forecasts, budgets and various monthly reports including variance analyses and reconciliations. A successful candidate must possess the ability to perform multiple projects simultaneously, while also managing the workflow of the station Business Managers.\nThe position is in-office based at the Hearst Television business office hub, located at WCVB-TV in Needham, MA.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules for multiple stations in accordance with monthly and annual close requirements\nPost and review financial data in general ledgers and journals; prepare and review reconciliations\nManage monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness\nReview accounting documentation for accuracy and proper accounting treatment; prepare and approve correcting journal entries as needed\nPrepare, maintain, and oversee subsidiary accounting records across a variety of transactions and accounts\nPerform and review account analyses and balance sheet reconciliations\nPartner with Station Business Managers in the preparation of station forecasts and annual budgets\nAssist in the preparation of year-end audit schedules and respond to audit-related requests\nEnsure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP standards\nPerform other related duties as assigned or requested\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent relevant experience\nMinimum of 3+ years of accounting experience\nWorking knowledge of Oracle Financials and/or Oracle Planning & Budgeting Cloud Service (EPBCS)\nExperience with SmartView/Essbase and enterprise financial systems such as Oracle or SAP\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook\nCore Competencies\nStrong time management skills with the ability to meet multiple reporting deadlines\nProactive, detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills\nDemonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and drive solutions\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment\nAbility to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and take ownership of projects and initiatives\nValues in Action\nAt Hearst Television we tell stories every day. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law.
