We’re committed to creating content and experiences that inform, inspire, and entertain-and to building a workplace where talented people can do their best work.\nKey Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)\nDevelop visual concepts for digital and print stories in collaboration with the creative lead.\nCreate thoughtful editorial designs with strong attention to layout, typography, imagery, and visual hierarchy.\nSupport designers on major editorial tentpoles and high-priority storytelling initiatives.\nRetouch photography and create conceptual collages that bring editorial ideas to life.\nResearch and source photography, illustration, and other visual references to support creative concepts.\nCollaborate with the creative lead to determine the right visual approach for individual stories and projects.\nApply Good Housekeeping’s visual identity consistently while bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to the work.\nQualifications (What We’re Looking For)\n2+ years of experience in editorial design, visual design, graphic design, or equivalent experience.\nStrong editorial design and visual storytelling skills, with a thoughtful approach to composition, typography, imagery, and layout.\nExperience developing visual concepts and translating editorial ideas into engaging design.\nProficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva; experience with Figma is a plus.\nStrong visual research and image-selection skills, with an eye for compelling photography, illustration, and references.\nExperience with photo retouching and conceptual collage creation.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with creative partners, incorporate feedback, and manage multiple projects in a short-term freelance environment.\nRemote role.\nThe hourly rate for this freelance role is $50 per hour. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation.
