We are seeking an experienced video journalist who can collaborate and lead when collecting and editing visual elements for compelling storytelling on all WLKY platforms. You will be responsible for gathering visual content, working either individually to edit, or as a team to collaborate and edit newscast and online content. We are looking for a news photographer who understands the urgency of breaking news, the importance of deadlines, and the critical elements of collaboration and communication when working with reporters. Excellent editing skills, exceptional time-management abilities, effective communication style, organization, and attention to gear/equipment maintenance are critical. An excellent eye for video and the highest journalistic standards are a must. You will edit video for all platforms in multiple formats. This position reports to the News Director.\nResponsibilities\nShoot and edit VOs, VO-SOTs, packages and vertical videos for broadcast, social and digital platforms\n\nWork with the Assignment Desk and Reporters to cover daily stories\n\nShoot on a full-size Sony ENG camera\n\nPreferred drone certification, willing to become certified in drone operation\n\nEdit in Adobe Premiere and use ENG, SNG, and wireless data to feed live shots and video to station\n\nWork with reporters and desk to ensure the best content and facts are gathered\n\nWork with the digital team to make sure information, images, and video from the fields are transferred quickly\n\nWork with catalog systems to record and locate necessary video\n\nAttention to detail regarding file management and technical workflow\n\nMust be flexible with schedule, being on-call and respond quickly to breaking news\n\nAbility to work under pressure, making quick decisions\n\nResponsible for organization and care of gear/equipment and station vehicles\n\nRequirements\nProfessional news video photographer experience preferred\n\nCarry up to 50 pounds of equipment\n\nExperience with ENG trucks and live transmission gear\n\nCan work in all weather conditions\n\nHave a valid driver's license and a clean driving record\n\nAbility to operate digital editing tools\n\nMust have computer and software experience\n\nKnowledge of Adobe Premiere, Precis, and CNN platforms preferred\n\nHave and exhibit unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards\n\nCan deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive content production\n\nRelated military experience will be considered\n\nIn-person attendance is required\n\nValues in Action\nAt Hearst Television we tell stories every day.
