Position Summary:\nThe Program Coordinator works with the Resident Services team to primarily ensure the successful and smooth operations of programs across Simon C. Fireman Community (SCFC). The Program Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating programs that are educational, recreational, cultural, social, and/or multigenerational in nature. The Program Coordinator is responsible for upholding and delivering the highest Hebrew SeniorLife (HSL) and industry standards with regards to safety, professionalism, service and quality of care for residents.\nII. Job Responsibilities:\nPlans and coordinates programs that are educational, recreational, cultural, social, and or mutigenerational in nature\nDesigns, develops and distributes monthly and weekly calendars, promotional flyers and other forms of communication for activities and events\nConducts annual Community Life Survey and maintains flexibility to alter plans when activities are not engaging the participants’ interest\nPlans and implements community outreach events\nWorks intra- and inter- departmentally to promote special events\nEncourages member involvement in program planning and implementation through committee process and recognition activities\nInteracts with residents, families, guests and staff in a positive, supportive way\nMeets with colleagues (internally and externally) to garner ideas, entertainment possibilities, etc.\nEnsures timely response to vendor inquiries\nCoordinates the set-up and breakdown of activities and events campus-wide, and facilitates effective cross-departmental planning to ensure success\nImplements community outreach and multigenerational programs and events\nHolds program meetings open to all residents to both evaluate current programs and plan future programs in collaboration with the residents\nWorks collaboratively with all housing interdisciplinary team members (social services, nursing, etc.)\nWorks with other departments of HSL to share resources and build community\nCollaborates with staff to ensure community building between all buildings\nAssesses residents’ needs, culture, interests and abilities; monitors safety and well-being, and assists residents in pursuing opportunities and achieving life objectives\nHelps set a tone of inclusion and warmth in the resident community\nDevelop and maintain partnerships with colleges, museums, and local town programs to enhance cultural and educational programming within SCFC\nUses creative problem-solving to resolve conflicts and meets the needs of residents\nWorks within established safety guidelines, enforces house rules, and actively promotes health and safety\nHandles all equipment and tools properly, maintains a clean and sanitary work area, and actively promotes safety within Simon C. Fireman Community\nIII. Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent amount of commensurate experience.\nMust be creative, energetic, patient, sensitive and professional\nCompassion for and desire to work with a senior population\nExcellent organization and interpersonal skills. Must have ability to innovate, think strategically and conceptually, manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle even difficult situations\nMust be a professional, proactive, collaborative, conscientious and results-oriented individual. Must have an optimistic and positive demeanor, excellent oral and written communication skills, good intuition and sound judgment. Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change.\nComputer literacy; experience with Windows, Word, PowerPoint and Excel\nAbility to work some weekends and evenings as necessary, and pride in properly completing tasks\nIV.
