Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a mechanic or maintenance technician in an industrial or mining setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or diploma in mechanical maintenance or related field.
- Experience with welding and fabrication.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA or MSHA.
- First aid and CPR certification.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on surface equipment such as conveyors, pumps, compressors, and hoists.
- Diagnose mechanical failures and perform timely repairs to minimize operational disruptions.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and report on equipment status and repair activities.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop maintenance schedules and improve equipment reliability.
- Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
- Operate hand and power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments as needed.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new surface equipment.
