YesOverview\nEVEN Hotel Rockville is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Operations Manager to oversee daily hotel operations, with a primary focus on Restaurant and Food & Beverage Operations, Engineering and Maintenance, Front Desk, and Guest Services.The Operations Manager will ensure smooth departmental operations, exceptional guest satisfaction, effective team leadership, and strong financial performance. This role is responsible for managing operating expenses, controlling labor costs, overseeing payroll, maintaining hotel standards, and ensuring that all departments work together to deliver a consistent and outstanding guest experience. The ideal candidate is an organized and proactive hospitality professional with strong leadership, financial management, problem-solving, and customer service skills. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring all guest service standards are met in accordance with client/guest expectations and HEI Standards of Product and Service.\nJob Responsibilities:\n1. Restaurant and Food & Beverage OperationsOversee daily restaurant operations, including service standards, food quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.\nManage restaurant staffing, scheduling, labor costs, and payroll to ensure efficient operations.\nMonitor food and beverage expenses, inventory, purchasing, waste, and portion control.\nEnsure proper food safety, sanitation, and health department compliance.\nTrain, coach, and motivate restaurant employees to provide excellent service.\nCoordinate with kitchen and service teams to improve efficiency, productivity, and the overall dining experience.\nMonitor restaurant sales, operating costs, and departmental performance to meet financial goals.\nAddress guest complaints promptly and implement solutions to improve service quality.\n\n2. Engineering and MaintenanceOversee daily engineering and maintenance operations to ensure the hotel facility, guest rooms, restaurant, and public areas are safe and well maintained.\nCoordinate preventive maintenance programs and ensure timely completion of work orders.\nMonitor HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, equipment, and building operations.\nManage maintenance expenses, supplies, vendor services, and repair costs.\nWork with the Engineering team to prioritize repairs, reduce equipment downtime, and prevent costly emergencies.\nEnsure compliance with fire safety, health, environmental, and building requirements.\nConduct regular inspections and follow up on maintenance issues to maintain hotel quality standards.\n\n3. Front Desk and Guest ServicesSupport and oversee Front Desk operations, including check-in, check-out, reservations, billing, and guest requests.\nEnsure professional, friendly, and efficient service throughout the guest journey.\nMonitor guest feedback, online reviews, and satisfaction scores, taking corrective action when needed.\nHandle escalated guest complaints and resolve service issues professionally.\nEnsure accurate billing, cash handling, shift handovers, and adherence to hotel policies.\nWork closely with housekeeping, maintenance, restaurant, and other departments to resolve guest concerns quickly.\nCoach Front Desk employees on hospitality standards, communication, service recovery, and upselling opportunities.\n\n4. Expense Management and Cost ControlMonitor hotel operating expenses and ensure departments operate within approved budgets.\nReview departmental spending, invoices, purchasing, and vendor contracts.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce unnecessary expenses without compromising guest satisfaction or service quality.\nMonitor food costs, maintenance expenses, labor costs, supplies, and other controllable expenses.\nReview financial reports and investigate budget variances.\nImplement cost-saving initiatives and track results.\nMaintain proper purchasing controls, inventory procedures, and accountability across departments.\n\n5. Payroll, Scheduling, and Labor ManagementOversee payroll preparation and review timekeeping records for accuracy before submission.\nMonitor employee hours, overtime, attendance, paid leave, and labor expenses.\nDevelop and review staffing schedules based on business levels, occupancy, restaurant demand, and operational needs.\nEnsure labor costs remain within budget while maintaining appropriate staffing and service standards.\nCoordinate with Human Resources and Payroll to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely, accurate payroll processing.\nEnsure compliance with applicable wage and hour laws, overtime requirements, and company policies.\nMonitor productivity and staffing efficiency across all assigned departments.\n\n6. Team Leadership and TrainingLead, coach, and support department supervisors and frontline employees.\nEstablish clear expectations, performance standards, and departmental goals.\nConduct regular meetings to review service quality, expenses, staffing, and operational priorities.\nAssist with recruiting, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and employee development.\nPromote teamwork, accountability, communication, and a positive workplace culture.\nAddress performance concerns promptly and consistently in coordination with Human Resources.\n\n7.
