We enable new opportunities for our customers through digitalisation.\nGeneral Operative\nSalary: £13.69 per hour\nLooking for a hands-on role where safety, teamwork and keeping things moving really matter?\nWe’re looking for a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our team at Heidelberg Materials.\nThis is a varied, practical role where you’ll play an important part in the safe and efficient running of the site. From operating mobile and static plant to carrying out inspections, maintaining equipment and keeping the site clean and organised, you’ll be right at the heart of our operation.\nIf you enjoy working as part of a team, taking pride in what you do and aren’t afraid to get stuck in, we’d like to hear from you.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nAs a General Operative, your responsibilities will include:\nSafely operating mobile plant and equipment\nOperating static plant safely and efficiently\nCarrying out Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) and quality inspections\nCompleting pre-start, operational and post-operation checks\nIdentifying and reporting plant defects or maintenance requirements\nHelping to maintain plant and equipment in good working condition\nCompleting near-miss reports when required\nMaintaining high standards of housekeeping across the site\nKeeping workstations clean, tidy and safe\nFollowing all company health, safety, environmental and quality procedures\nWelcoming visitors to site and ensuring they sign in correctly\nCompleting contractor inductions where required\nWorking closely with colleagues to ensure production operates safely and efficiently\nWhat we’re looking for\nYou’ll be someone who is reliable, safety-conscious and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.\nA positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team are essential.
