We enable new opportunities for our customers through digitalisation.\nMechanical Craftsperson Ketton Cement Works\nCompetitive Salary\nReporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, this role is critical in ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of plant equipment through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives. As a Mechanical Craftsperson you will play a key role in supporting Heidelberg Materials' Maintenance Improvement Plan (MIP) by carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance across the site. Working both independently and as part of a team, you will help maximise plant reliability while ensuring the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and operational performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanical engineer to work on a wide range of heavy industrial equipment, playing a key role in improving plant reliability, safety, and operational performance.\nKey responsibilities include:\nPerforming mechanical inspections and planned maintenance activities\nDiagnosing faults and carrying out corrective repairs\nSupporting plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives\nParticipating in daily maintenance planning and MIP meetings\nWorking safely and complying with all SHEQ requirements\nCollaborating with colleagues and contractors to deliver efficient maintenance solutions\nContributing to the ongoing improvement of maintenance processes and systems\nWhat You'll Bring\nWe're looking for someone with strong mechanical maintenance experience gained within a heavy manufacturing, industrial, chemical, cement, quarrying, or similar environment.\nYou will ideally have experience with:\nPumps, valves, pipework and process systems\nConveyors, bearings, gearboxes and rotating equipment\nHydraulic and pneumatic systems\nCompressed air generation and distribution systems\nWelding, burning and basic fabrication\nMechanical fault finding and diagnostics\nLifting and pulling equipment\nWorkshop machinery including lathes, milling machines and drill presses\nSAP and maintenance management systems\nQualifications & Experience\nNVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering (or equivalent qualification).\nCompletion of a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.\nProven experience in mechanical maintenance within a heavy industrial, manufacturing, process, or engineering environment.\nCompetent user of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.\nDesirable\nExperience of using SAP or other Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).\nAdditional qualifications in welding, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, or lifting operations.\nMulti-skilled maintenance experience within a continuous manufacturing environment.\nWhy Join us?\nAt Heidelberg Materials, we don’t just offer jobs-we build careers.
