We're looking for a motivated Plant Operative / Batching Plant Operator to join our team and help keep our operation running efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating plant equipment, maintaining high standards, and being part of a supportive team where every day is different.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nAs a Plant Operative, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our concrete and mortar batching plant, ensuring products are produced accurately and delivered to meet customer requirements.\nKey responsibilities include:\nOperating the batching plant and associated equipment safely and efficiently.\nProducing concrete and mortar to the required quality standards and customer specifications.\nWorking closely with the Order Office, customers, and site teams to ensure smooth daily operations.\nOperating a Front End Loader (FEL) when trained and authorised.\nMonitoring stock levels and ensuring sufficient raw materials are available for production.\nCarrying out daily visual stock checks and supporting monthly stock verification processes.\nInspecting incoming materials and reporting any issues.\nCompleting routine maintenance inspections and recording actions taken.\nIdentifying and reporting defects, safety concerns, environmental issues, or operational risks.\nMaintaining excellent housekeeping standards across the plant, buildings, equipment, and site facilities.\nEnsuring waste disposal, dust emissions, and water discharges comply with environmental standards.\nSupporting continuous improvement by identifying more efficient ways of working.\nPromoting and maintaining a strong safety culture for employees, contractors, and visitors.\nWhat We're Looking For\nWe're seeking someone who takes pride in their work, has a positive attitude, and is committed to maintaining high operational standards.\nYou will ideally have:\nGCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.\nExperience working in a manufacturing, production, construction, quarrying, logistics, or industrial environment.\nStrong awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards.\nGood attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.\nA proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.\nGood communication and teamwork skills.\nA flexible attitude and willingness to undertake training and development opportunities.\nWhy Join Us?\nAt Heidelberg Materials, we believe our people are the foundation of our success.
