Every task a clinician hands to Heidi is a patient who feels more attended to, a health system unclogged, and a clinician who gets to be a clinician again.\nIf you don’t choose easy and you want to build something way bigger than yourself then, choose the challenge, choose Heidi.\nThe role\nWe’re seeking a Mid-Senior Android Engineer to own the Android experience for Heidi Remote - our clinical recording device used by doctors day to day.\nYou’ll work on the Android app that pairs with the hardware, keeps sessions in sync, and helps clinicians set up and manage their device, collaborating closely with iOS, Desktop, backend, design, and firmware partners.\nYou’ll ship reliable Kotlin/Android features in a healthcare product: Bluetooth connectivity, sync and settings, solid error handling, and the upcoming Remote V2 onboarding (pairing and connecting clinic/hospital Wi-Fi). You’ll care about performance, privacy, and production quality - and you’ll own work end-to-end from build through monitoring field issues.\nWhat you’ll do\nOwn and evolve the Heidi Remote Android app alongside the wider Remote team\n\nBuild and maintain Bluetooth / device connectivity, sync, and settings flows\n\nShip Remote V2 setup experiences (pairing and Wi-Fi onboarding) with product and design\n\nCollaborate with iOS and Desktop for cross-platform consistency on shared device behaviour\n\nWork with backend and firmware partners (including factory-side firmware) on integration and rollout\n\nContinuously improve reliability, performance, and security for a clinical workflow\n\nWhat you'll need\n3+ years of professional Android development, fluent in Kotlin and the Android ecosystem\n\nSolid experience with modern Android (Jetpack, architecture patterns such as MVVM / Clean)\n\nExperience with Bluetooth or other connected / IoT-style devices\n\nFamiliarity with REST APIs, offline-friendly patterns, and production debugging\n\nComfort owning features end-to-end in a fast-paced, high-agency team\n\nMandarin a plus (helps with factory / vendor sync)\n\nHow we show up\nBuild for the next decade, not next quarter.
