You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality integration services that meet business requirements and architectural standards.\nThe ideal candidate is a technically proficient developer with a strong understanding of API management, enterprise integration patterns, DevOps practices, and distributed systems.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. API Development and Management\nDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and enterprise integration services using Java.\nDevelop, configure, and manage APIs using Kong API Gateway, including routing, authentication, access control, rate limiting, and traffic management.\nImplement API security, versioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management in line with established standards and best practices.\nDevelop and maintain SOAP and REST web services to support communication between internal and external systems.\nProduce and maintain API specifications and documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger and other relevant standards.\n2. Enterprise Integration and Data Transformation\nDesign and implement integrations between enterprise applications, third-party platforms, and internal services.\nWork with XML and JSON data formats to support data exchange across heterogeneous systems.\nDevelop and maintain data transformation and processing logic using XPath and XSLT.\nImplement and consume SOAP-based web services using WSDL and related technologies.\nTroubleshoot integration failures, data inconsistencies, connectivity issues, and service communication errors.\nEnsure data integrity, interoperability, and reliable information exchange across integrated systems.\n3. Microservices and Solution Architecture\nDesign and develop modular, maintainable, and scalable microservices-based applications.\nApply REST, SOAP, and enterprise integration principles to deliver reliable service-to-service communication.\nContribute to architectural decisions involving API design, service orchestration, system interoperability, and distributed application development.\nApply best practices for error handling, logging, performance optimisation, resilience, and fault tolerance.\nCollaborate with architects and engineering teams to translate business and technical requirements into effective integration solutions.\n4. DevOps, CI/CD, and Cloud-Native Deployment\nUse Git for source control, collaborative development, and code management.\nBuild and maintain automated build, testing, and deployment pipelines using Jenkins and CI/CD practices.\nContainerise applications and integration services using Docker.\nDeploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerised applications in Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.\nSupport application deployment and operations within Microsoft Azure environments.\nCollaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to improve deployment reliability, scalability, observability, and operational efficiency.\nParticipate in code reviews, automated testing, release management, and production support activities.\n5. Quality Assurance and Technical Collaboration\nWrite clean, reusable, secure, and maintainable code in accordance with engineering standards.\nConduct unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and performance optimisation.\nInvestigate and resolve production incidents and integration-related technical issues.\nMaintain technical documentation, API specifications, integration workflows, and deployment procedures.\nWork closely with product owners, solution architects, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and other developers to deliver project objectives.\nStay informed about emerging API management technologies, integration frameworks, and cloud-native engineering practices.\nRequired Qualifications and Technical Skills\nCandidates must demonstrate practical experience in the following areas:\nCore Development\n-Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Java and enterprise integration solutions.\n-Strong proficiency in Java programming and backend application development.\n-Hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway development and API management.\n-Data Formats and Transformation\n-Strong working knowledge of XML and JSON.\n-Practical experience with XPath and XSLT for data querying, transformation, and mapping.\n-Architecture and API Development\n-Proven experience designing and developing microservices-based applications.\n-Strong experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.\n-Practical experience with SOAP web services and WSDL.\n-Familiarity with OpenAPI specifications and API documentation standards.\n-Understanding of API security, authentication, authorisation, versioning, and error handling.\n-DevOps and Cloud Technologies\n-Experience using Git for version control.\n-Hands-on experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline implementation.\n-Experience with Docker and containerisation.\n-Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.\n-Experience deploying or supporting applications on Microsoft Azure.\n-Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift and cloud-native application environments.\nAdditional Competencies\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within an engineering team.\nGood communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.\nStrong commitment to code quality, security, documentation, and continuous improvement.\nNice-to-Have Skills\nExperience with any of the following technologies will be an added advantage:\nWSO2 API Manager (APIM): API publishing, governance, security, and lifecycle management.\nWSO2 Micro Integrator (MI): Enterprise integration flows, mediation, and service orchestration.\nWSO2 Enterprise Integrator (EI): Enterprise application and service integration.\nDevelopment of integration-oriented applications, services, and APIs.\nCandidates with experience implementing WSO2-based integration solutions
