Heli-One Canada is looking for an Apprentice AME for Structures "S". This candidate would be hired on the bases they will become a licensed “S” ACA. The ability to travel occasionally domestically and internationally would be a great asset since we are always requiring structures people to support the embedded maintenance program with DND.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follows approved repair/modification procedures for component or aircraft, consulting internal procedures that have been TC approved, original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions.
  • Positions and aligns subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points Inspects completed work to identify any needed rework before signing off; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • Performs serviceability tests on repairs using test equipment specified in technical manuals.
  • Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping off after finishing all designated operations Bolts, screws, or rivets accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies.
  • Cuts, trims, files parts, and verify fitting tolerances to prepare for installation.
  • Drills holes in structure and subassemblies, and attaches brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installation or to fasten subassemblies.
  • Learn to meticulously inspect and test installed units, parts, and equipment, ensuring optimal fit, peak performance, and strict compliance with industry standards using advanced measuring instruments and precision test equipment.
  • Installs units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Locates and marks reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments

Salary range: $56,594 - $71,732 Based on experience

Work Schedule Choice:

  • 8 hour days, Monday to Friday (06:00-14:15) or;
  • 10 hour days, Monday to Thursday (06:00-16:30)

Time Off:

  • 4 weeks vacation starting with the option to purchase an additional week through payroll deduction
  • 10 days sick leave
  • 13 Statutory Holidays observed

Pension:

  • Manulife: mandatory 4% with Company matching 4%

  • Extended Medical and Dental through Sun Life (3 tiers to choose from)
  • Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance and AD&D coverage

  • Molded Ear Plugs
  • Fitted Respirator
  • Cold Weather/Rain Gear (for applicable areas)

Travel:

  • Mobile Repair Team (MRT) deployment opportunities around the world
  • Hotels, airfares, rental cars covered
  • Daily per-diem, rates dependent on country
  • All travel time paid

Unionized Position:

  • Union dues are 1% of salary
