Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone.\nSince Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised $1.5 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group as well as new investors including Thrive Capital, LightSpeed Venture Capital, SoftBank, and others to propel us forward. Our current prototype, Polaris, has reached record-breaking plasma temperatures of 150 million degrees Celsius (13 keV). Helion is continuing to iterate and on the path to the world's first fusion power plant, Orion.\nThis is a pivotal time to join Helion. You will tackle real-world challenges with a team that prizes urgency, rigor, ownership, and a commitment to delivering hard truths - values essential to achieving what no one has before. Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait.\nWhy This Role Matters\nTaking fusion from a working prototype to a manufacturable power plant is as much an organizational challenge as a technical one. As a Senior Manager, you scale both the electrical systems and the teams that build them - leading across high-energy power systems and owning the roadmap from Polaris toward Orion and, ultimately, mass production. You'll operate where technical strategy, execution, and team-building meet.\nWhat You Will Be Doing\nLead and scale electrical engineering across high-energy power systems - capacitor banks, power conversion, and grid tie-in.\n\nOwn the technical roadmap that carries these systems from prototype toward manufacturable, mass-produced hardware.\n\nDevelop managers and senior individual contributors; build organizational depth ahead of Helion's growth.\n\nDrive execution across multiple teams and disciplines, and remove the obstacles that slow them down.\n\nPartner with company leadership on strategy, hiring, and budgets, and keep safety and rigor central as the organization scales.\n\nRequired Skills\nA degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.\n\nExtensive electrical engineering experience, including high-power or high-voltage systems.\n\nLeadership experience (typically 3+ years), including leading engineers and, ideally, other leaders.\n\nA track record scaling teams and delivering complex electrical systems, with both strategic and hands-on technical judgment.\n\nExperience with grid tie-in, design-for-manufacturing and production ramp, or scaling an engineering organization through rapid growth is an asset.\n\n#LI-Onsite #LI-KL1\nBenefits\nOur total compensation package includes benefits, including but not limited to:\nMedical, Dental, and Vision plans for employees and their families\n\n31 Days of PTO (21 vacation days and 10 sick days)\n\n10 Paid holidays, plus company-wide winter break\n\nUp to 5% employer 401(k) match\n\nShort term disability, long term disability, and life insurance\n\nPaid parental leave and support (up to 16 weeks)\n\nAnnual wellness stipend\n\nHelion is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. If you need assistance or an accommodation during the interview process, please let us know.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3414,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Life insurance","Parental leave"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Electrical & Electronic Engineering","Nuclear Energy","Nuclear Engineering"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-06T03:14:54Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"H-1B filings in 12 months: 2","filings_12m":2,"filings_prev_12m":0,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":177500,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-15T11:24:14+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":17,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.607,"p_room":0.28,"age_days":312,"expected_fill_days":96,"reasons":["conf:2","win:tail","crowd:"],"computed_at":"2026-10-28T05:59:10Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":270000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/helion-energy-senior-manager-electrical-engineering","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/helion-energy-senior-manager-electrical-engineering.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-28T12:22:07Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":16353,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-29T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":10265},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=10265"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fhelion-energy-senior-manager-electrical-engineering"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fhelion-energy-senior-manager-electrical-engineering"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fhelion-energy-senior-manager-electrical-engineering"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/helion-energy-senior-manager-electrical-engineering\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fhelion-energy-senior-manager-electrical-engineering"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":416675}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"helionenergy.com","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":416675},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
