The position will be reported to the Chief Geologist of the Technical Services department in Skouries.\nMain Responsibilities:\nConduct geological research and analysis to identify and assess mineral resource potential.\nMonitor and report on current and potential mineral resources to optimize production schedules and budgeting\nConduct research and analysis to identify new opportunities for mineral exploration and extraction\nDevelop geological models and update resource estimates based on exploration results.\nDevelop geological resource evaluations of exploration and operational projects\nEvaluate potential risks and opportunities related to mineral resource extraction.\nEnsure compliance with relevant regulations and promote sustainable mining practices.\nSupervise and mentor junior geologists in their day-to-day responsibilities.\nCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize extraction methods, identify potential risks, and provide recommendations for resource development strategies.\nResponsible for accurate Geological Data collection, analysis, and interpretation of exploration and operational projects\nPrepare and review geological models for mineral grade control model’s estimation.\nConduct mineral grade control model’s estimation aligned with Company’s policy on estimation and reporting guidance. \nReconcile mineral resource and ore reserve models against production performance.\nProvide geology and mineral resource contributions for project evaluation studies.\nAssist mine planning with development and optimization of grade estimation parameters and resource optimization processes.\nContribute to the preparation of life of mine plans.\nPrepare geological reviews and reports.\nDevelop and continuously improve internal mine geology systems, standards, guidelines and procedures.\nWorking closely with the technical and operational teams for best-in-class ore control activities.\nContribute to the continuous improvement of the team by constructively identifying opportunities and testing solutions.\nManage opportunities, studies and projects for NI, JORC (or similar) compliant Mineral Resource statement.\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Geology.\nMSc in related discipline is an advance.\nAt least 5 years of working experience in a leadership role in the mining environment with a practical understanding of technical, operating and management processes.\nProven experience as a Mine Resource and Research Development Geologist in the mining industry.\nExperience in Geostatistics, with strong knowledge of geological modeling software and data analysis tools.\nExperience in the conducting of extensive QA/QC monitoring to ensure data and interpretations are accurate with the use of appropriate tools e.g. Acquire.\nGood understanding of the JORC/ NI 43101/ SAMREC reporting codes.\nDeep understanding of geology, mineralogy, and mining techniques.\nProficiency in Geological Modelling software (Leapfrog Geo etc.).\nProficiency in Resource Estimation software (Leapfrog Edge, Datamine etc.) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).\nGood knowledge in OP and UG underground mine planning software (Deswik, Datamine etc.).\nKnowledge of database management and QA/QC practices.\nDemonstrated organizational and planning skills including an ability to manage competing priorities to meet agreed deadlines.\nGood command of written and spoken English.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nDriving License.\nOur company offers a competitive remuneration package that includes an attractive combination of basic salary and benefits, as well as opportunities for development in a challenging work environment.\nInclusion and Diversity\nHellas Gold is an equal opportunities employer.
