We value genuine relationships, high standards, ownership, clear communication, and a true commitment to client delight.\nAs an AI-native agency, we use modern tools to enhance the quality, speed, and clarity of our work, while keeping human judgment, creativity, and relationships at the center.\nResponsibilities\nKey Outcome: Deliver high-quality, high-performing frontend experiences that AOA is known for, with predictability, agentic-efficiency, and collaborative ownership.\nBuild production-grade frontend experiences for enterprise accounts in React and Next.js.\nWrite clear technical documentation, schemas, and architectural flows teammates can use.\nTurn product-level objectives into clear, actionable engineering tasks and own the technical approach.\nTranslate Figma designs into reusable component libraries and design-system primitives that help the team ship faster.\nBring frontend craft from the start and build for performance by default.\nConnect interfaces to backend and third-party APIs, handling loading, errors, empty states, and partial data.\nPlan and sequence your work across multiple client projects, bringing recommendations rather than open-ended problems.\nProactively identify risks and gaps, and create spike tickets to de-risk them ahead of the work.\nWrite tested, maintainable TypeScript that follows each client codebase’s conventions.\nSelf-review your work and catch issues before QA.\nConduct code reviews and hold the bar on quality across the work you review.\nUse AI coding tools and agents thoughtfully while keeping engineering judgment in control.\nSelf-manage and take ownership of your commitments and deliver what you planned for the cycle.\nCommunicate proactively across a remote team, sharing progress and surfacing risks early.\nQualifications\n5+ years building production frontend applications, with deep, current React expertise.\nStrong experience on enterprise-grade accounts, products, or projects.\nPrior experience working in an agency environment and as an independent contractor, with the ability to manage multiple clients or projects in parallel.\nExcellent professional English, spoken and written.\nA track record of owning frontend features end-to-end, from ambiguous requirements to production.\nStrong frontend fundamentals: semantic HTML, modern CSS, responsive design, and browser behavior.\nExperience translating Figma designs into accurate, responsive, accessible interfaces.\nExperience integrating REST or GraphQL APIs and managing client and server state.\nA strong quality discipline: typed, tested code and self-review before QA.\nAbility to estimate your work, commit within a delivery cycle, and reliably deliver.\nStrong written communication and proactive, independent work in a fully remote team.\nReliable overlap with standard US Central Time business hours.\nFluent, practical use of AI coding tools as part of your engineering workflow.\nBased in Latin America and able to work as an independent contractor.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with headless or eCommerce frontends, such as Shopify Hydrogen or headless commerce, in addition to SaaS.\nExperience building or maintaining a design system or component library used across multiple products.\nFamiliarity with frontend testing and CI tooling, such as Playwright, Vitest or Jest, and Testing Library.\nExperience working in a points-based or sprint-based delivery model.\nA portfolio, GitHub, or code samples you can share.\nYou do not need to check every single box to apply.
