You’ll be accountable for executing the processes and directives set by the production team while ensuring adherence by all team members to all safety and GMP guidelines. Additionally, you will look to identify and suggest measurable, quantitative improvements in performance and KPI metrics.\nWhat you will be doing:\nWork with stakeholders to ensure that raw materials, packaging, and consumables are in place to deliver the production plan on time and in full.\nMonitor delivery of the production plan, resolve work problems by recommending measures to improve productivity on the lines and communicate changes required to the plan with all stakeholders.\nSupervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of production associates who are responsible for kitting, processing, packaging, testing, and grading of food products.\nCommunicate goals, targets, and information to all associates and coordinate and monitor shifts and assess employee performance to daily production targets. \nEnsure all production areas and equipment are cleaned and sanitized throughout the day and at the end of each shift.\nTrain new associates in job duties for various packaging machinery and informing them about safety procedures and company policies\nMaintain proper function of sanitation equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), as well as, assuring the adequate inventories of PPE are kept available at all times.\nMaintain constant communication with the Production and Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor and other supervisors on progress and current or potential issues regarding production or employees.\nEnsure that our waste streams are disposed of as per instruction and training.\nFollow all company safety and GMP guidelines and SOPs.\nWork safely with chemicals being used.\nSupport the implementation and management of HACCP, GMP and ensure that company procedures and standards related to Food Safety and Quality are followed and maintained.\nEnsure that production and all equipment meets health, sanitation, and quality standards set by the company and food industry\nWork in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations.\nUse personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer.\nOther duties as assigned.\nAt a minimum, you have: \nHigh School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience\nMinimum 1-3 years of experience in food processing, manufacturing, or food service environments\nPrevious experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment preferred\nExperience with inventory management and control\nStrong leadership and people management skills with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate 30+ hourly employees\nStrong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities\nAbility to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing\nAbility to remain calm and effective under pressure\nBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)\nBasic proficiency in Google Workspace tools (Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Sheets)\nFamiliarity with video conferencing platforms such as Google Meet/Hangouts\nAbility to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs\nAbility to stand for extended periods, including frequent bending, twisting, and walking\nComfortable working in a refrigerated environment (0°C to 4°C)\nFlexible to work overtime, weekends, evenings, and holidays as required\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to identify food safety, sanitation, or quality deviations\nCommitment to maintaining workplace safety, GMP, and food quality standards\nWhat you’ll get in return:\nCompetitive salary and health benefits\nShift premiums are available for afternoon and overnight shifts\n75% discount on HelloFresh or Chefs Plate weekly box subscription\nHigh impact work to help feed thousands of families in Canada\nOpportunity to learn and grow\nWork with a hard-working and supportive team\nWorking Conditions:\nIt’s no surprise that as a food company, we use many ingredients that may be considered common allergens (i.e. peanuts, tree nuts, milk, etc.).
