As a member of our Toronto team, you’ll work with highly-skilled engineers, who in collaboration with our other global teams, have turned HelloFresh into the #1 meal delivery service in the world!\nWhat You’ll Do: The Recipe\nDesign, develop, and deploy software solutions across HelloFresh markets and brands, with a focus on building great experiences for our customers and internal users\nTake ownership of features end-to-end, from understanding the problem and shaping the solution through development, quality engineering, deployment, and monitoring\nWork closely with Product Owners, Designers, and other engineers to turn customer and business needs into simple, scalable solutions\nBuild modern, accessible, and performant frontend experiences using React, TypeScript, and related technologies\nContribute across the full stack, including APIs, backend services, integrations, and data where needed\nParticipate in technical discovery, architecture, and design discussions, helping the team make pragmatic technical decisions\nApply DevOps practices and engineering best practices to build, deploy, and operate reliable software\nUse AI coding agents as part of your everyday engineering workflow to explore, plan, develop, debug, and improve software\nContinuously develop your technical skills and share knowledge with the team through code reviews, pairing, mentoring, and technical discussions\nWhat You’ll Bring: The Ingredients\nAn active, solution-oriented member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team, collaborating with Product Owners, Designers, Backend and Frontend Engineers, and other stakeholders\n4+ years of professional software development experience working in an agile software development team\n2+ years of hands-on experience with React and TypeScript, or a similar modern JavaScript framework such as Angular or Vue\nStrong understanding of frontend architecture, component design, state management, API integration, performance, and accessibility\nProven experience delivering end-to-end features, taking ownership from initial implementation through deployment and monitoring\nHands-on experience with continuous delivery and deploying customer-facing applications\nExperience writing unit, integration, and functional quality engineering tests, as well as working with practices such as TDD or BDD\nSolid understanding of backend architecture, with the ability to work with APIs, service contracts, and backend engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions\nExperience with server-side technologies such as Next.js, Nest.js, Remix, Node.js, or similar\nProficiency with GraphQL and/or REST APIs, with a working knowledge of SQL for data exploration and product requirements\nExperience with monitoring and observability tools such as Honeycomb, Sentry, Datadog, or New Relic\nExperience working with experimentation, such as A/B or multivariate testing\nComfortable working with cloud-based applications, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices\nA solid understanding of product engineering principles and a willingness to challenge requirements and help identify the right solution for the customer and business\nWorking knowledge of one or more backend languages such as Node.js, Python, Go, or Java\nSolid hands-on experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot beyond casual experimentation. You use AI as a thought partner to navigate unfamiliar codebases, explore solutions, plan and implement changes, and improve your development workflow.
