The ideal candidate will bring strong backend expertise in Java and modern frameworks, solid frontend development skills, and experience building secure, high-performance applications in cloud-enabled environments. Previous UK broker-dealer and capital markets experience is essential.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications using Java.\nApply UK broker-dealer and capital markets experience to support business and technical requirements.\nBuild robust RESTful APIs and microservices for high-volume, low-latency systems.\nCollaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions.\nDevelop responsive, reusable UI components and integrate them with backend services.\nParticipate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions.\nOptimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.\nImplement security, data protection, and compliance best practices for financial systems.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation for code, APIs, and deployment processes.\nTroubleshoot production issues and coordinate timely resolutions with support teams.\nContribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation practices.\nApply sound software design principles and engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle.\nCollaborate across global teams in an agile, fast-paced environment.\nTake ownership of deliverables, maintain attention to detail, and contribute to continuous improvement.\n Demonstrated hands-on experience with Java 8, 11, or 17 and Spring Boot, Kafka, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.\nStrong professional experience using Python.\nEssential experience in the UK broker-dealer sector and capital markets.\nSolid knowledge of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.\nProficiency in frontend technologies, including Angular or React, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.\nPractical experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.\nGood understanding of ORM frameworks, including Hibernate and JPA.\nFamiliarity with build and dependency management tools such as Maven or Gradle.\nExperience using version control systems such as Git.\nStrong understanding of software design principles, data structures, multithreading, and concurrency.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively across global teams and contribute effectively in agile, fast-paced environments.\nA strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, commitment to engineering excellence, and focus on continuous improvement.\nEligibility to meet the requirements for Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance.\nWillingness and ability to work under a PAYE arrangement through an umbrella company.\nPreferred qualifications:\nBackground in financial services, investment banking, or capital markets.\nExposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.\nKnowledge of caching and performance tools, including Redis, Elastic, and profiling tools.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms.\nExperience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Cypress, or Selenium.\nUnderstanding of secure coding practices and regulatory and compliance requirements in banking environments.\n Candidates must be legally authorized to live and work in the country where the position is based, without requiring employer sponsorship.\nHelloKindred is committed to fair, transparent, and inclusive hiring practices.
