We do this by disrupting traditional employment barriers - connecting ambitious talent to flexible opportunities with trusted brands.\n Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: April 25, 2027\nWork Set-Up: Hybrid (3 days per week in office)\nClearance Required: BPSS\nOur client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Kotlin (or Java) Developer to work within the Developer Experience (DevX) Standards and Controls function, which is building a platform for control owners and development teams to manage and view their compliance with a range of software development controls.\nThe successful candidate will work on Kotlin and Java-based web applications and APIs across 2-3 applications and proofs of concept. Exact candidate allocation will depend on experience and fit. All applications have a microservice architecture built using modern coding techniques.\nWhat you will do:\nCollaborate with developers, testers, and the wider organisation to build and run products.\nDesign, develop, and implement back-end features according to backlog and priorities, with a small element of frontend development.\nDevelop features using simple UI frameworks without requiring strictly frontend-focused development.\nCollaborate with the engineering team to design and launch new features.\nProactively work with customers to resolve issues and respond to feature requests.\nBuild APIs and microservices.\nWork in an Agile CI/CD environment to deliver rapid iterations at a sustained velocity.\nParticipate actively as a team member through peer reviews and testing of other developers' code using automated test scripting.\nApply strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills to investigate and resolve development issues.\nWork with standard developer collaboration tools including GitHub or Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence.\n Experience in Kotlin, or significant Java experience with a willingness to learn Kotlin.\nPractical experience in at least two or three of the following areas: API development, SQL/databases, HTML, and JavaScript.\nExtensive experience working with microservices.\nStrong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills.\nExperience working in Agile environments, including the use of Jira and Confluence.\nExcellent writing skills and strong attention to detail in code.\nA proactive approach to work, with the ability to identify next steps and progress work independently.\nGood interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, testers, customers, and wider teams.\nStrong written and spoken English skills.\nGood working knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and GCP is desirable.\nWhat We Offer\nExposure to leading IT technologies available in the market.\nAccess to internal training events and workshops.\nParticipation in in-house seminars with leading industry experts.\n Candidates must be legally authorized to live and work in the country where the position is based, without requiring employer sponsorship.\nHelloKindred is committed to fair, transparent, and inclusive hiring practices.
