Responsibilities\nBackend Development\nDevelop, test, and maintain backend services and applications using Java and Spring Boot.\nBuild and maintain microservices and contribute to distributed systems.\nDevelop and support customer-facing applications.\nWrite clean, readable, reusable, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices.\nApply appropriate design patterns and principles such as SOLID and DRY.\nWork with SQL and NoSQL databases.\nProduction Ownership and Reliability\nContribute to the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of applications in production.\nMonitor application health and performance and help identify and resolve issues.\nParticipate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of technical incidents.\nHelp improve application reliability, performance, and stability.\nMaintain technical documentation and follow established operational practices.\nSoftware Design and Quality\nContribute to technical design discussions and help implement solutions that meet business requirements.\nWrite and maintain automated tests to ensure code quality.\nParticipate in code reviews and refactoring activities.\nFollow security, data integrity, and quality standards.\nIdentify opportunities to improve existing code, systems, and development processes.\nCollaboration and Communication\nCollaborate with developers, the Engineering Manager, and the Product Owner.\nCommunicate technical challenges clearly and ask relevant questions when needed.\nContribute to team discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.\nRequirements\n1-3 years of relevant software development experience.\nPractical experience with Java.\nExperience with or a good understanding of Spring Boot.\nUnderstanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.\nKnowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.\nUnderstanding of object-oriented programming, common design patterns, and software engineering best practices.\nFamiliarity with automated testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.\nBasic understanding of application deployment, monitoring, and production support.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nGood communication and teamwork skills.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.\nWork Arrangement\nBased in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.\nHybrid work model, with 2 days per week in the office.\nInitial contract duration of 6+ months.\nASAP start
