Through our brands Hempel, Neogard, Crown Paints, Wattyl and Farrow & Ball, we provide solutions for the Marine, Energy, Infrastructure and Decorative industries.\nJob Summary: The Distribution Center Manager will lead the warehouse team in the central distribution facility. This manager will work closely with all logistics functions as well with Sales, Marketing, Plant Management and external suppliers and vendors. The job may involve traveling up to 20%. Other related duties may be assigned.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nCoordinates day to day operations driving lead time, cost, quality, inventory control, and service improvements within the distribution center.\nEnsures the efficient shipping and delivery of finish good products by performing distribution duties personally or through subordinates. \nDevelops optimal facility layout, infrastructure and product flow designs within the distribution facilities. \nManages the accuracy of the finished goods inventory through solid cycle counting processes and procedures. \nEnsures shipping quality through solid receiving and shipping processes. \nWorks closely with planning team to manage inventory levels in the distribution network. \nActively participates in assessing alternatives to optimize the transportation and warehouse network and executes a plan to improve cost and service. Evaluates outsource services when required. \nEnsures proper trace and tracking of shipments. \nManages customer priorities and requests in a cost efficient manner to satisfy customer requirements. \nImplements a bar-coding management system that includes order picking, warehouse location transfers and cycle counting in warehouses where WMS has not being implemented yet. \nContributes in creation of annual departmental budget and keeps expense controls to achieve budget levels. \nReports established performance metrics and develops new measurements required to keep close control of warehouse operations. \nHires, trains and coaches warehouse and transportation employees. \nIdentifies and implements progressive distribution and inventory management techniques. \nCoordinates reverse logistics (returns, reworks). \nWorks with Human Resources and Safety on Health/Safety/Environmental to identify and implement appropriate safety procedures including OSHA requirements and company specific guidelines.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Logistics Management or a related field, or equivalent work experience.\n Minimum of 7 years of distribution center experience, including at least 5 years in a management role.\nBilingual in English and Spanish preferred.\nWorking knowledge of automated Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).\nHazmat experience and/or DOT certification preferred.\nExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.\nDemonstrated ability to organize and manage the work of others, including direct reports in remote locations, and to collaborate across departments to achieve organizational goals.\nContinuous improvement mindset; Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.\nProficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.\nExperience withfacility maintenance and inventory management.\nWhat is in it for you?\nMedical, dental and vision insurance coverage options that begin on your first day of employment \nFlexible HSA and FSA options to manage healthcare and dependent care expenses\n12 paid holidays\n15 vacation days to start \n6 personal days\nPaid leave for jury duty and bereavement\n401(k) plan options with immediate company match and full vesting from day one\nBasic life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage for the unexpected \nEnjoy 16 weeks of fully paid maternity leave or 4 weeks of paid paternity leave, supporting you during life’s most important moments.\nWork Environment:\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
