H&M is a subsidiary of MasTec, a certified Minority-Controlled Company by the National Minority Supplier.\nJob Summary:\nThis position is a field based role and will travel daily to job sites in New York State.\nCurrent job sites are: Mayfield NY, Lowville NY, Middletown NY and Sidney NY.\nThe experienced Field Mechanic will perform repairs and maintenance of fleet vehicles in the field and at construction sites. Our fleet includes pick-ups, bucket trucks, digger derricks, dozers, trenchers, excavators, backhoes, trailers and loaders and other related utility construction equipment.\nResponsibilities\nRoutine maintenance and service of fleet vehicles at assigned intervals. \nDocumentation of PM reports & equipment repair logs.\nFord, Peterbilt, John Deere, Altec, Terex, Versalift, International, Cat and Vermeer experience. \nAbility to utilize laptop, smart devices and software as a tool of the trade. \nNeed electrical troubleshooting experience. \nBe able to install and maintain telematics equipment such as Zonar. \nHydraulic and engine repairs.\nAir brake repairs. \nChassis repairs. \nRepair of construction type fleet equipment and vehicles (including all phases of aerial device repairs).\nMust be able to work with minimum supervision.\nField welding and fabrication on dirt and rock engagement equipment.\nQualifications\nRequires experience repairing diesel engines and hydraulic systems. \n100% travel required (travel expenses are reimbursed)\nMechanic rig is provided and is available to drive to and from sites daily.\nRequires experience repairing air brakes; certification is preferred but not required. \nExperienced in welding and small fabrication. \nMust have at least 3 years experience working as a mechanic or service technician.\nAbility to lift 50LBs.\nAbility to walk - sometimes long distances over uneven and wet surfaces.\nThe ability to work over time when required, sometimes with short/same day notice.\nClass\" A\" CDL required.
