The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with strong leadership capabilities to guide development teams and influence cross-functional strategy.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nLead and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and technical leads specializing in SAP Commerce Cloud. \nDefine engineering best practices, coding standards, and agile methodologies across the platform team. \nFoster a culture of innovation, quality, and accountability within the engineering organization. \nOwn the architectural vision and technical roadmap for SAP Commerce Cloud (B2B and/or B2C). \nDrive technical decisions, including integrations with SAP S/4HANA, ERP, CRM, and third-party systems. \nEnsure scalable, modular, and future-proof architecture aligned with enterprise strategy. \nOversee planning, estimation, and execution of engineering deliverables and product releases. \nWork closely with Product Management and UX teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. \nTrack performance metrics, engineering velocity, and delivery quality \nPartner with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment strategies. \nSupport a shift-left approach for testing, security, and performance validation \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, QA, operations, and business units. \nManage external development partners and SAP technical consultants as needed. \nComfortable working in internationally distributed teams \nStrong verbal and written communication skills \nSPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. \n10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) development and architecture. \nStrong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, REST APIs, and microservices architecture. \nExperience with cloud-native development and deployment (e.g., SAP Commerce Cloud in public cloud environments). \nTrack record of leading large-scale, customer-facing commerce platforms. \nDeep knowledge of integration patterns with SAP backend systems (e.g., S/4HANA, SAP ERP, SAP CPI). \nExperience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies. \nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and team-building skills. \nSAP Certified Development Specialist - SAP Commerce Cloud. \nExperience with headless commerce, composable architecture, and MACH principles. \nFamiliarity with frontend frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Spartacus). \nBackground in performance tuning, load testing, and site reliability engineering. \nGENERAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:\nOutstanding management and leadership skills and ability to attract, retain, motivate, develop, mentor and coach team members for high performance\nOutstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to resolve disputes effectively\nOutstanding presentation and public speaking skills\nExpert independent decision making, analysis and problem solving skills\nUnderstand, interpret and act on financial information and external trends that contributes to business profitability\nPlan and manage complex and successful projects; understand available resources, develop timeline, budget and assign areas of responsibility\nLead teams to achieve company goals and solve complex business issues in creative and effective ways\nExpert planning and organizational skills and techniques\nCommunicate effectively with senior management and key stakeholders\nExcellent negotiating skills and ability to effectively manage internal and external relationships\nAbility to influence, build relationships, understand organizational complexities, manage conflict and navigate politics\nBroad professional and managerial skills with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures\nLead and develop virtual teams\nExpert in multiple technical and business skills\nStrategic planning skills\nMINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:\nTypically 12 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience; 5 or more years of management experience.\nPREFERRED EDUCATION:\nTypically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline.
