The role plans delivery routes, performs vehicle roadworthiness checks and maintains accurate transport records to ensure reliable distribution and compliance with established operational procedures.\nCandidates must hold a valid South African driver’s license and a valid PDP. Appointment is conditional on passing a pre-employment medical examination, including an eye test for visual acuity and colour vision, conducted in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Section 7 of the Employment Equity Act, meaning testing is limited to what is necessary for the inherent requirements of the job and is not used for unfair discrimination. A satisfactory criminal record check and verification of a clean driving record are also required.\nQualification and experience:\nMinimum Grade 12 / Matric.\nMinimum 5 years’ driving experience.\nValid driver’s licence.\nValid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).\nExperience delivering and collecting goods or documents within a business, logistics or supply-chain environment will be advantageous.\nKey technical skills:\nDelivery and Collection Route Planning\nVehicle Roadworthiness and Serviceability Checks\nVehicle Defect Identification and Reporting\nVehicle Logbook and Timesheet Administration\nTransport Record Management\nGoods Collection, Delivery and Handover Procedures\nDelivery Documentation and Item Verification\nKey responsibilities:\nDelivery and Collection Planning\nPlan and coordinate daily delivery and collection activities with the Store Supervisor according to operational requirements to establish efficient routes and manage deviations, resulting in timely and reliable transportation of goods and documents.\nVehicle Inspection and Roadworthiness\nConduct vehicle serviceability and roadworthiness checks before each trip and report identified defects through the required channels to confirm that the vehicle is safe and suitable for use, resulting in compliant and reliable transport operations.\nDelivery and Collection Execution\nCollect, transport and hand over goods and documents between Stores, Shipping, suppliers and relevant recipients in accordance with the agreed delivery plan to ensure items reach the correct destination, resulting in accurate and timely distribution.\nTransport Administration and Record-Keeping\nComplete, update and archive vehicle logbooks, timesheets and roadworthiness checklists in accordance with established procedures to maintain accurate transport information, resulting in accessible and auditable operational records.\nVehicle Control and Operational Support\nPark and secure the vehicle, hand over the keys at the close of business and assist with relevant Stores activities when required to maintain control of company assets and support operational requirements, resulting in compliant vehicle custody and continuity of Supply Chain operations.\nOur recruitment values:\nHENSOLDT South Africa focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion in our organisational strategy.
