Scope\nThe Production Engineer is responsible for optimising and supporting manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production flow, maintaining product quality, and supporting continuous improvement within an electromechanical production environment.\nActing as the primary liaison between the Design and Manufacturing departments, especially with NPI (New Product Introduction), this role forms a crucial part of the ongoing development and operational activities, to maximise effectiveness and productivity.\nBeing responsible for supporting the manufacturing department with the execution of its targets by maintaining the tooling and systems required to do so, including the generation and maintenance of work instructions, Operating procedures and Test specifications, tooling maintenance and liaising with other departments as required.\nJob Functions\nProduction Process Management\nDevelop, implement, and optimise production processes such as Work Instructions, Operating procedures and Test specifications.\nDefine process parameters, work instructions, and assembly procedures.\nEnsure processes meet safety, quality, and productivity targets.\nNew Product Introduction (NPI)\nCollaborate with R&D and design engineering to industrialize new products.\nDevelop pilot builds, process validation, and transition to full-scale manufacturing.\nAssist in design-for-manufacture (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) reviews.\nEquipment & Tooling Support\nSpecify, procure, and maintain production equipment, jigs, and fixtures.\nDiagnose equipment failures and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams.\nSupport automation initiatives (e.g. automated assembly or test systems).\nQuality Assurance\nCollaborate with Quality Engineering to establish in-process and final inspection methods.\nConduct root-cause analysis for defects, scrap, and rework issues.\nImplement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce non-conformities.\nContinuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing\nLead improvement activities using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and other methodologies.\nAnalyse production data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.\nDrive cost reduction initiatives through process optimization and material savings.\nProduction Support\nProvide day-to-day technical support to operators and technicians.\nTrain production staff on new processes, tools, and quality standards.\nEnsure production documentation is accurate, up to date, and properly controlled.\nRequirements\n2+ years of production engineering, manufacturing support or process engineering experience.\nExperience with electromechanical assemblies (motors, sensors, PCBs, actuators, wiring, etc.).\nExposure to high-mix or low-volume manufacturing environments desirable.\nTechnical Competencies\nStrong understanding of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes.\nFamiliarity with KPI performance management, process analysis and technical report writing\nKnowledge of Lean manufacturing and quality tools (FMEA, SPC, 8D, Ishikawa, etc.).\nExperienced with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).\nSoft Skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nDetail-oriented and committed to high-quality work.\nPhysical Attributes\nStanding, walking, and bending throughout the day\nCapable of manual handling/lifting on a regular basis, throughout the day\nThe above list will be subject to
