They support other areas of the business with RF/antenna design expertise.\nJob Functions\nProactively lead antenna and RF equipment development, via internal or sub-contracted work packages.\nMaintain antenna and RF designs - e.g., for product Improvements and obsolescence.management\nOversee derivation of requirements and specifications and their verification & validation\nProvide technical support to Supply Chain, Quality, Suppliers and Customers.\nSupport external antenna and RF designs and maintain antenna/RF Production Tests.\nSupport RF module manufacture - responding to technical issues, undertaking trend analysis and root cause analysis.\nEnsure that Engineering Procedures are correctly followed, and the quality is maintained through design and manufacture.\nGenerate estimates, plan and generally manage small work packages.\nEnsure adequate documentation is maintained.\nAny other tasks associated with this role.\nRequirements Essential\nPCB Design at microwave frequencies - comfortable with manipulating schematics and defining/reviewing required layout.\nRF Component selection; knowledge of High Power RF amplifier, Low Noise Amplifiers, Limiters, Circulators, Filters, Mixers and Phase Locked Loop usage.\nRF System Design (e.g. Cascade Analysis).\nFamiliarity with RF test equipment (e.g. Spectrum Analysers, Vector Network Analysers).\nAntenna theory and design and test including array antennas, including slotted array and printed antennas\nDesign for test and design for manufacture.\nExperience of a Production Environment (e.g. good understanding of processes such as SMT).\nSelf-motivated and enjoys working within a team.\nGood command of written and verbal English.\nRequirements Desirable\nFamiliar with Altium PCB Design Software.\nFamiliar with Altair RF and antenna design software\nWorking knowledge of radar or closely related applications (e.g., Comms).\nExperience of any of the following:\nKnowledge of digital electronics or power supply design.\nExperience of requirements management and/or systems engineering disciplines. \nTest Automation (e.g. through MATLAB or Python).\nEMC.\nRegulatory compliance (e.g. FCC, ITU or ETSI requirements).\nEmployee Health & Safety Compliance\nThe job holder will be expected to comply with any reasonable operational instruction or procedures relating to Company policies, reporting, and controls.
