We are headquartered in Sydney, Australia with offices in London, Washington DC and Tokyo.\nAbout the role:\nWe are looking for a Fullstack Engineer with a strong backend focus to join our team. This role prioritises backend expertise with the ability to contribute to frontend tasks, ensuring seamless client-server integration. As a Fullstack Engineer, you’ll be joining our team in Sydney and working closely with our Research & Development and product development functions. You’ll be applying your knowledge to build modern, responsive user interfaces and visualisations that can enhance HEO Inspect, HEO’s proprietary NEI data and insights platform. With years of experience in this domain, the HEO team will help you expand your knowledge and skills to flourish in this exciting role.\nYour key responsibilities include:\nDesign and development of new features on HEO's NEI data and insights web platform, HEO Inspect, with a focus on performance, user experience and interactivity.\nMaintenance and development of cloud-based back-end services which focus on automating our operations in Space.\nWork closely with HEO’s R&D team to productionise new algorithms that enhance our operations.\nWork closely with HEO’s product, go-to-market and analyst personnel to ensure customer requirements are met through our web application, API, and bespoke system integrations.\nWe are looking for someone with:\nA bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar field\n4+ years of industry experience in developing web applications on the cloud\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nStrong analytical & critical thinking skills and comfortable with experimenting to solve new challenges\nExtensive knowledge in:Python and/or any Object Oriented Programming Language\nWeb Development (RestFul APIs, Django)\nExperience in building end-to-end applications. End-to-end systems development (Including persistent storage) and deployment (CI/CD)\n\nAbility to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.\nNice to have:\nFrontend Technologies (Typescript and React)\nBackground knowledge of orbital dynamics, robotics and image processing is considered a plus\nAWS Services and Products or any cloud service experience\nAI tooling and knowledge\nExperience with monitoring and analytics for application performance/metrics\nHEO’s Company Values:\nWe value good space citizenship.
